Load Error
I used to visit the app frequently but it has not been functional in some time. The app opens but content never loads. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn’t help.
Cuts off watching live segments
I don’t have cable in my room so i TRY to watch the live stream while I’m getting ready for work in the mornings but it constantly cuts off, leaving me with a black screen. I have to close the app and then reopen the app which in return miss most of the news in the mornings. It’s very frustrating.
Disappointing
This used to be my go to app for local news and the ability to watch the weather report. Now there is no actual weather report, just a few vague words for the day and night. I have stopped watching the live segment of the news because of the ridiculous and continuously repeating ads. Bring back the ability to watch an actual weather report and live stream the news without ads and I’ll be back. Also update the app for the current day so days old news isn’t displayed.

What happened?
For the last several days there is no content in the sub menus. Pertinent information like Schedule Changes and Closings cannot be found, and we are in midst of a winter storm!
Weather
I enjoy the app and have always watched news 5. My only complaint is the advertisements being directly over top of the weather forecast making it impossible to see.
App Crashes and Won’t Open on Older Device
UPDATE 4/24/23 I just downloaded the latest version and tried again. It’s now working and seems to be fine! Thank you for fixing it! Your website still no longer works on this older iPad with iOS 12. But now I can at least read the stories in the app.
The app will no longer open on my iPad Mini 2, which is stuck on iOS 12. When I tap to open it, it tries to open but then immediately crashes and takes me back to my main screen. Your website will no longer open in the browser, either. Unfortunately, I’m stuck with this iPad until Apple comes out with a new iPad mini and fixes the “jelly scroll” issue.

Garbage. Pure garbage.
This app is infuriating. What’s the point of notifications if it doesn’t actually bring you to the article you were notified about? It brings me to the app where you can’t even find the article that you were notified about!!! I left this app for a long time and NOW I remember why.

App stops after asking question about ad preferences and then nothing! Useless!
Unable to read articles
Article text appear in a black box when iPhone is in dark mode; therefore unable to read. Discovered by putting phone in light mode and text appears.
Videos Do Not Have Sound
Unfortunately WCYB’s app has always been horrendous. I submitted feedback to the staff regarding audio not loading in videos, advised of the iOS version (I always have current) and they did something to make the videos finally play sound. I was excited - until I had an update and then the videos once again had no audio. And forget about the Closed Captioning - also horrendous, most of the time it’s jibberish. I gave up. I still used the app but only looked at stories I could read.
Now WCYB is not even bothering putting text with their news pieces in their app, which makes it completely useless. They may as well save whatever minimal resources they are utilizing for effort and money into the app and drop it all together. It’s a complete waste. Deleted!

iPhone 11
Recently bought iPhone 11 and installed my favorite local news app. After viewing an article, I cannot return to the main menu from in the app. I have to shut it down and restart to get the main menu back.
iPhone s6+
This app is great, however it cuts the live news broadcast off and I have to completely close it out and by the time I open the app back up I have missed half of the segment. Please fix this, this is by far the best local news app. Keep up the good work WCYB!
Pretty good app if you like fake news
This is the best fake news I’ve seen in a long time. They are almost as bad as CNN. All of the stories are comically one sided. They block people on Facebook who have different opinions than they do, and if you don’t get blocked they taunt you with passive aggressive comebacks like have “a nice day” or “thanks for the feedback, we’ll look into it” but they don’t mean any of that. All in all this app is great for laughs at the end of the day after you’ve paid your ridiculously expensive insurance premiums and deductibles

In the past I used this app several times per day. Since the revamp I no longer use due cumbersome flow.
School Closing issue
Thank you for finally making it where we can view closings now.

Nothing loads, this app is crap just like WCYB news 5. It's just plain out horrible.
Don’t care for the update
I’m having issues with the update. School closings are difficult to find, and loads an insecure page warning. If I continue, I get a SPAM advertisement. I also got insecure page warning when I clicked on privacy policy. Needs some work.
Tunnelman
Not sure what happened. Updated the app and now the words are all jumbled. Was a great app til this update. Disappointed. I removed the app and will try it again at a later date.
