The NEWS2 score (National Early Warning Score 2) is a standardised tool for the early identification of patients at risk of clinical deterioration. It is based on the systematic assessment of key vital signs (respiration, oxygenation, circulation, temperature, and level of consciousness) and enables rapid, objective risk stratification—primarily in pre-hospital care.
