About
Most news apps are built to be opened all day. News Bytes is built to be
finished before your coffee is.
Pick a topic in your own words: "Formula 1", "semiconductor policy", "Chicago
city council", "the WNBA". Every morning you get up to three stories about it,
each with a short summary, why it matters, and a numbered list of the outlets
that reported it. Tap any source to read the original article at the
publisher's own site.
Then it stops. There is no feed, no infinite scroll, and nothing waiting for
you when you come back.
EVERY STORY IS SOURCED
Each story is built from published reporting and carries the outlets it came
from. A story we can't ground in real reporting is discarded rather than
published. An assistant that will confidently make up the news is the one bug
a news app cannot ship with.
MORE THAN ONE OUTLET
We search a second time for each topic, asking specifically for coverage from
outlets that don't agree with each other, so a story arrives with a range of
who reported it rather than the first five results.
LISTEN INSTEAD
Every briefing comes with a spoken version, with lock-screen and headphone
controls, for the commute, the gym, or the kitchen.
ARRIVES WHEN YOU WANT IT
One notification, at the time you pick, in your own time zone, and it follows
you when you travel. Mute a single topic or all of them from Settings without
losing anything.
FOLLOW AS MANY TOPICS AS YOU LIKE
Each topic gets its own briefing and its own three stories. Add one the moment
you're curious; drop it the moment you're not.
QUIET BY DESIGN
No ads. No account to fill out beyond signing in with Apple or Google. We don't
record which stories you open, which sources you tap, or what you listen to,
and there is no advertising or analytics SDK in the app. Delete your account
from Settings and it's gone immediately.
Free.
