Traded one cluttered inbox for another

No ability to hide or remove newsletters once they’re added seems like a critical feature for something that claims to help organize your inbox. I’m stuck with 12 different bitcoin newsletters and more that I didn’t even sign up for. Jumping to Matter app after trying this for a couple weeks. Good idea, needs some work.

Not free

Requires money but doesn’t disclose up front.

Absolute trash on MacOS

Doesn’t work…error messages all the time.

Lousy Support

Accidentally bought this thing during the test notified them ask for my money back they blithely told me to get my refund from Apple.

Apple of course, says to get it back from Meco.

Then Meco deleted my account even though they’ve been paid for a full year. So now I have no access to use the app and they refuse to refund my money.

Steer clear of these guys. I am going to report this app and their lousy, smerking “not our problem” support team to everybody…

Awesome reader

Best reader app for email newsletters I’ve tried.

Only 4 stars cause there is no true dark mode. The existing dark mode reformats the newsletter in often incorrect ways.

Paid af and nothing free

Fully paid app. Took my whole gmail data and not even allowing to delete it

Response from developer

Hi priyanshjain301, Meco is not fully paid, you can use it for free by creating a Meco Inbox email, which lets you receive and read newsletters without connecting Gmail. If you connected Gmail and now want to unlink it and remove your data, you can disconnect it at any time from Meco Settings → Connected Mailboxes, and you can also delete your account from Settings → Help & Support → Delete Account. We never sell your data and your emails are stored locally on your device only. If you would like help walking through these steps, please email us at team@meco.app and we will be happy to assist. Thanks, Sean Meco Cofounder

Not meeting expectations

This is had to configure, it forced to add newsletter a that I did not want and it displays on top the ones that in Gmail I never open. I am about to give up on this app.

Teething problems

I really like this app but it really struggles with consistency. Sometimes the emails are there and sometimes they aren’t.

Response from developer

Thanks for letting us know about the consistency issues. This is not the experience we want for you. It sounds like there may be a sync problem with your connected mailbox. Often this can be fixed by going to Meco Settings → Connected Mailboxes → Select your mailbox → Resync. If the problem continues, please email us at team@meco.app so we can investigate and get everything running smoothly for you. Thanks, Sean Meco Cofounder

Absolutely great

One of the apps I use most on the iPad. I finally get to read my Newsletters! It is really the perfect solution for people with more then three Newsletters and a cluttered mail inbox.

Solved: Newsletter OVERLOAD

I receive almost 30 newsletters in my Inbox and I can't keep up. Thankfully Meco now creates me a Daily Brief - a podcast based on 20 newsletters I gave it.

App is still a bit buggy but it sounds like they are working out the kinks as the app is still fairly new this is understandable.

Thank you Meco and Sean

Great design, often crashes

I love this app for its interface and clean design. It makes organizing and reading newsletters a breeze. The Gmail integration works flawlessly. However, the app crashes so often that it’s difficult to use at certain points. I am getting consistent crashes after reading one to two newsletters.

Response from developer

Hey nlooney, So happy you like the interface and design! Can you send us an email (team@meco.app) so we can make sure to solve the crashing issue for you. Thanks, Sean

Broken

I've added the maximum newsletters - which is 20 - to my Daily Brief, and supposedly it's supposed to create a daily podcast based on them but every single day it tells me there were not enough newsletters to make a podcast. I conclude either your system is just making an excuse as to why it's not working - because I get a dumb amount of newsletters from those 20 I've added to the Daily Brief - or the amount of newsletters that I can use needs to be increased. This feature is the sole reason I got this app and am paying for the pro or premium version. Please fix your app.

Great concept but I’m not convinced

I’ve been using this app for quite some time and I’m just not convinced that this is the way to go for newsletters, nor that this is the app to do it. There are bugs in the iPadOS version (random crashes, crashes when swiping many emails in a row, inability to send back to GMail random senders) that have been there for as long as I’ve been using it. Lots of new functionality apparently, but I feel like (as is normal) features are being prioritized in order to sell Pro versions. Not to mention it’s really slow while importing all of the new messages every time because it doesn’t do that unless the app is open. I’m also not convinced that off-loading all of my newsletters to another app is all that productive. I’ve just become more ruthless about unsubscribing to ones that don’t provide value. Every time I open Meco I spend most of the time swiping things to delete them. That the app crashes when I do this doesn’t help the experience. I’ll probably come back to this in a few months and try again, but for now it’s not for me.

Lost all my subscription newsletter

I had an Meco email setup and plenty of newsletters but everything disappeared, including the meco email… Better to create an email specifically for your newsletter, it’s what I will do now…

Response from developer

Newsletters KING!

I’ve tested numerous apps, but none can match Meco. It’s incredibly simple yet incredibly powerful, clutter-free, and devoid of any unnecessary features. It’s an absolute must-have! 😍

They will charge you even if you cancel the trial

Title says it. Super annoying. You signed up for the free trial and then cancel it and they still charge you for the annual membership. Of course there's no customer service number to reach out to you and you have to go through Apple's system and just cross your fingers that they'll feel sorry for you.

Does not work

Will no longer open even after latest update. Technical difficulties error pop-up - when will this be resolved?

Push notification issue

Very nice work! Meco app is my favorite for reading newsletters.

However, there is an annoying issue with it.

All Meco push notifications disappear when just tap one.

An essential app to say the least.

Great build. Smooth experience

Crashes a lot currently

Great idea. I would like this to work and be usable. But currently it crashes a lot on me. New iPad Mini A17 with latest iOS
