I have enjoyed this app a lot. It’s a great ideal. It has helped me find a lot of great new podcast. It nice to sit back and let them read the news articles to you. I highly recommend this app!!

Wonderful app! But I would love some speed control
What a fantastic concept. And what a great execution. It’s an elegant, logical, well-designed and usable interface with a lot of power under the hood! Bravo. I have one feature request: I want to have something like a thumb-slider control over reading speed. Drag to the far right and it’s reading at three times normal speed, slide a bit back/left and it’s at 2.5 times, …slide back to the middle and it’s at normal… And to the left slows things down a bit, etc. maybe down the road you could develop a ”smart playback speed“ feature. I have ideas for how that might work. Get in touch!

Hey James! Thank you for your kind words. As for the speed, this feature already exists on the app. Just go into the full-screen mode (by clicking on the player picture on the bottom), and click on the speed. A pop-up screen will appear and you can drag the speed to the right (faster) or to the left (slower).

I can’t say enough about this app Newsly. What are unique concept, yet why didn’t someone else think of it? All of your news and headlines are crawled by this app and available at your fingertips. It’s very customizable, and far better in my opinion than the iPhone news app and others out there. So if you’re going to spend money, even though you could use it free, it’s better to spend your money on this app. Truth be told, my favorite part of it is the fact that it reads news to me in a natural voice so I don’t have to sit there and scroll and read everything myself. Also, it even has podcasts! What news app does that?! Michael, host of the MICRO BREAK podcast!
