Best app ever!!
I love this app it is so easy to use, logging in just using Face ID is amazing. I’m so glad for whoever made the switch to this new app!
Pretty bad
The redesign was welcome but it has progressively gotten worse as time goes on. They spam you about “Financial Tools” and “Refer a friend” with both taking up screen real estate on your Home Screen. You can’t get rid of either. It’s honestly pretty ridiculous. The layout has gotten way worse.

Several years on and it actually got worse
I reviewed this app when it first came out, and it hasn’t gotten any better. Needing to switch between personal and business accounts still means I have to completely re enter my login credentials EVERY TIME I log in! The camera used to only glitch out once when trying to deposit a check. Now it glitches out two or even three times a session. The app still stays open when you minimize it or sleep your phone — an unaddressed security flaw. The old app was SO much better, more functional, more user friendly… and none of that has been addressed for YEARS by NSB

The app has been glitchy lately, loading screens that lead to errors, sometimes the screen doesn’t even load. Very inconvenient…
Frustrating and with fewer features!
Update Jan 2024: I have entirely given up on logging into this app automatically and have to enter my entire user name and password EVERY TIME I OPEN THE APP. The camera for deposits still glitches. This app still stinks and I avoid it except when I have to use it. How many years does it take to fix basic bugs?
Update 11/4: Tried it on my iPad this morning, couldn’t be worse, right? When I finally dug through the menus and found the Deposit Check function, I discovered that it errors out instead of connecting to the camera. No options to allow camera through iPad settings, either. Previous review: It keeps asking me to change my password, which is torture while thumb typing, and when I finally get in, I can’t deposit a check because it says it can’t access my accounts. Worst, the old app let me switch between my personal and business accounts. This app only lets me access one or the other with Touch ID and completely forgets my other login every time I move from one to the other. This is an improvement??? Edit after another month of use: This app is impossible to use if you have both personal and business accounts with Newtown. I have mistakenly deposited checks into the wrong accounts because the app makes it look like I am logging into my business accounts, but then switches me to my personal accounts without notice. AWFUL downgrade from the old app!!!! 8/7 Update: new update, new issues. Did I mention that the app connecting to your phone camera when you want to deposit a check only works sometimes? I usually have had to back out and reconnect to the camera at least once per session. Added to that now are weird, esoteric error messages that float above your check images. Horrible App, barely works
This new app is such a significant downgrade from the old app. I can’t even deposit checks without the app constantly logging me out right after taking the pictures of the check.
Can no longer turn on/off my debit card from the app.
The UI is horrible and the charges are displayed in a way that isn’t immediately clear where it’s coming from. A cluttered, dis functional and lack luster new app.

Terrible New App
I hope that the Newtown Savings Bank reps use the app personally so that they can experience how terrible and glitchy it is. Can’t access or check funds very often…

As is trying to login on the new system wasn’t a pain now that I am all set up I cannot get my statements!

Upgrade Disaster KEN
Old system, I got to choose from which acct to which account I want to transfer to. The new system requires you to provide the acct number to and from to transfer …. What a pain in the $&@@!!!!!! Every time I have to provide the acct number vs simply choosing the accts from a drop Dow box. Horrible!!!!!!!!!!

New App ...Why?
Who made the decision to buy this new app? It is terrible. As others have commented, it was not a very good choice. I have a mobile app at two other banks and I am considering transferring all my funds from Newtown Savings to these other two. They have apps that are easy to use, secure and accessible with iPhone, computer, and iPad. You must have someone on staff who can improve this mess before you loose clients.
