Constant Logging Out
The fact i have to keep constantly logging into my account every time i open the app is ridiculous when the cam was so expensive + a monthly subscription, dealt with it for months with no change so i’ve now binned it and swapped for another brand.
Useless Rubbish
I’ve had an iQ2 & iQ4 with Rear Camera, tried 2 different cars and nothing but problems with the cameras, these do not record properly, 2 accidents and damage also not recorded.
App functions don’t exist.
Warranty Plus isn’t valid unless you purchase 12 month subscription without any breaks between.
It’s a great concept but too many issues.
I returned all of them for a full refund at Halfords, even after 17 months.
I don’t recommend these to anyone!

Unreliable App, Subscription Lock-In, and No Confidence When It Matters Most
I want to like the Nextbase iQ, but the app experience completely undermines the hardware. Most of the time the app cannot connect to the camera at all. Even when the camera shows as “online,” the app either hangs indefinitely, fails to load, or refuses to connect.
The rear camera situation is even worse. In the rare cases the app does connect, the rear-facing camera frequently does not appear or fails to stream entirely. For a premium dash cam ecosystem, basic reliability should not feel like rolling dice.
To make matters worse, without a subscription, you cannot view video through the app, whether live footage or recorded clips. Locking basic video access behind an ongoing subscription makes an already frustrating experience even harder to justify.
Most concerning of all, these reliability issues create zero confidence that the system will actually capture or preserve video when it is needed the most. A dash cam is supposed to provide peace of mind, not uncertainty about whether critical footage even exists.
The hardware has potential, but the software experience is frustratingly unreliable and nowhere near what should be expected at this price point.

Rubbish Login
Worked great for a 6 month time. And now it says I can't login because I don't have a Camera associated with my account? Also, when I try to reset my password, it says no account associated but clearly I have emails and had a functioning camera for almost 6 months so there was an account ... they screwed up something on their end and now it says I can't login without an active camera, but I can't activate my camera if I'm not logged in

Waste of money
Considering the price and the function that it’s meant to provide, it’s a total waste of money, as doesn’t perform or record the event every time. I’ve got a dent in my car and the one event I need, I can’t access as says NOT PRESENT!! So much for what you claim it can do!!

Do not buy
Nextbase flagship dashcam is the worse camara you can buy. Constantly drops out from the app, it’s illegal in its working operation for driving tests, its latest update made things worse for connection and customer service haven’t the faintest idea of how to use the camera or know what’s wrong. BUY A CHEAP £20 Chinese camera and this will be way better than this £600 rubbish. Nextbase won’t reply to this I’m sure because they’ve had my money and couldn’t care less.

App not connecting
The app does not connect to camera after the latest update, it also logs off the camera having to input all log in details again.
Got logged out
App is broken with Apple login, logged me out and asking for email or phone number to log back in, still happy to charge the subscription tho, needs fixing

For what there charging for this dash cam and on top of that the monthly subscription you gotta pay and is still trash what a waste of money it doesn’t matter if is day or night you can barely see other vehicles plates terrible pixels my phone can record better then this horrible dash cam.
Software and UI are poor
It’s weird maneuvering through the app itself and times I gotta find a YouTube tutorial to find a basic setting. Not only that payments never work on this app. It’s already annoying I gotta pay a subscription for the dashcam to even be useful but it’s always an error when going to pay.
Slow and broken
Apple ID automatic sign in has stopped working. Insist I manually fill out my details making sign in that way no better than manual process.
SOS functionality on the camera seems to offline half the time.
Downloads from the app take an absolute age.
Sent an email to nextbase regarding the apps broken apple auth and never even got a reply. Won’t be buying another next base product.

Forgotten Idea?
An app they seem to forget, rarely gets updated. The IQ firmware itself hasn’t been updated in nearly a year, so many bugs and minor problems that can be a simple fix on there end….

Clunky and doesn’t connect
Have reset connection settings and tried reinstalling app, and still not connecting to camera. Also camera doesn’t capture everything. Had a few near misses and the file for those times doesn’t even come up

Have had many dash cameras in the past this one is far superior even with a $20 subscription required totally worth it
Amazing camera
Best camera I’ve ever had. Live view is phenomenal. GPS tracking a bonus. Watch the camera from anywhere. Can’t rate this camera high enough!!
