Very good to have as a โstargazing commpanionโ. Is accurate and has many settings (showing the ecliptic line, turning off the satellites (why not?) and most importantly, changing the visibility of what you would see in urban areas compared to the sky in rural areas) all of which are easy to access. P.S. it doesnโt blind you while doing a location check. (If it does then just turn phone brightness down!)

Not sure who this is for
iPhone 15. Calibration is too poor to accurately point to much smaller than Venus, and even that was a few degrees offset from my telescope (yes, I followed their instructions- app calibration instructions to the letter). Ads pushing their AI chatbot are constant. Zoom in, accidentally tap a star, leave the app open too long and boom! Ad for ai slop on something you really ought to just research yourself anyways (your phone is already in your hand after all).
Who was this made for? Astronomy hobbyists need more accuracy, kids canโt shell out money like that, itโs just bizarre. Animations are nice though.

Aggressively tries to make you purchase a subscription
Used to be great. But now every time I try to use a feature or even just zoom in, a pop up covers the entire screen trying to get me to buy an annual subscription. Makes it borderline unusable.

There are way too many pop ups for their $120 a year subscription.

Basically this game is supposed to be fun. Well, I know it wasnโt. I saw this on my phone when it was 5 July. And I kinda like it!!
Rain or shine
I love the Night Sky mainly because my weather conditions donโt matter. You still get a clear view of the cosmos. It accurately displays everything going on in the night sky, even on the opposite side of the earth. On clear nights itโs great to use outside as a guide for stars , constellations, comets, meteor showers, or whatever. Really enjoy it.
