Young desi only

Overall, I think the app has a lot of potential, and I particularly like the feature that allows you to involve family in the matchmaking process. However, there are a few areas that I think could be improved:

1. Family participation across countries: I really like the option to add family members, as it makes the matchmaking process feel more inclusive and aligned with Islamic values. However, restricting this feature to certain countries is limiting. Many of us have parents or family members living overseas, and we should be able to include them regardless of their location.

2. Communication flexibility: People lead busy lives. Having one match doesn’t necessarily mean that person will always be available to communicate exclusively or consistently. People travel, work, have family commitments, and sometimes have different schedules. Allowing users to communicate with multiple potential matches simultaneously shouldn’t automatically be interpreted as a lack of seriousness. It’s about allowing people the flexibility to get to know others without unnecessary pressure. I have to wait and Thry charged me $100? That’s pricey to keep going.

3. Greater cultural diversity: The current user base seems heavily concentrated among younger Southeast Asian users. Islam is incredibly diverse, encompassing different nationalities, cultures, ethnicities, and age groups. I’d love to see the platform reflect that diversity more meaningfully and attract a broader range of Muslim communities. Right now it’s all South Asia not many Arabs.

Overall, I genuinely see potential in the app. With greater international accessibility, more flexibility in communication, and a more diverse user base, I think it could become a much stronger matchmaking platform. And it needs to be cheaper.

A marriage app that keeps it halal

This app is different than other Muslim matrimonial apps in the aspect that it is designed to not give you dating fatigue. You receive five potentials a day, and can choose whether to express interest or not.

What makes this app stand out is you are to have a family member on the app with you. This is extremely helpful in keeping un-serious people off the app and keep it strictly limited to those who are seeking marriage.

The NikkahUp team also organizes matrimonial events. I attended one today and was impressed by their organization and effective communication.

I found my match on here and we deleted the app already!

I find it time saving talked to 2 people and we had families involved right away. I deleted it now because I am serious about a candidate I met. Make dua for me

Genuinely has the potential to change the culture for the better

I added my family and they are present with me in the chat. I can take them off whenever I want but I feel like it’s more halal this way. To the NikahUp team THANK YOU!!!!!!!

My moms favorite app now hehe

Taught my mom how to use it in one sitting and now she is checking it more than I do!!
