Great App for Reading Chinese - but no customer support

This app is a great way to study Chinese, though probably not for a total beginner. It helps to already have a little basic vocabulary before using it.

The stories show pinyin as well as Chinese characters. The pinyin is optional - its easy to remove it for learning the characters.

The app includes a translation for words and sentences.

Plus, a reader reads each story to help improve listening skills.

I would give the app 5 stars, but there is no customer support. If you forget your password, you are out of luck. You can’t reset it. You can’t even delete your account to start over without writing a letter of explanation to the developer.

Best Chinese learning app out there

Many readings for all HSK levels, ability to save words, and tap to translate. Best part is that it is 100% FREE WITH NO ADS. Really a godsend

BEST LEARNING MANDARIN CHINESE READING APP EVER

This is the BEST LEARNING MANDARIN CHINESE READING APP I have ever come across. It has all the bells and whistles you could need to practice reading Mandarin Chinese. It is just awesome. If you are learning Chinese and looking for helpful reading material, with audio, with different playback speeds, with pinyin, with word by word translation, with contextual sentence translation, with a large library of short stories and articles, and much much more, THEN THIS IS THE APP!!! Did I mention? All this and completely free!!!! No ads, no in-app purchases. Just top-notch reading practice. Are there cons? Yes, nothing is perfect, but this app certainly comes very close. If I had to nitpick in the spirit of a comprehensive review I would say there are two features I would like to see added in future versions. 1. Names are not translated/defined (but you can still see the pinyin pronunciation ), so if you didn’t recognize the word as a name you might be thrown off. 2. The audio of the native speaker reading the text plays without highlighting the word being read as it does in some other apps (all of which are NOT free). This is not really a problem, more of a lack of convenience. Audio scrolling is also a little difficult in case you want to scroll to a specific word, but you can always just tap the word you want to hear and it plays it back for you on its own (unless it is a name).

As a Chinese learner, I appreciate apps with graded reading materials, so I can know where's my level.
