Urgent changes need

I’ve had this app for years, it’s been one of my favourites!

With the recent update we have seen a new feature allowing us to visibly highlight verses, thank you! So helpful!

The update also has created some short comings, please can you change them for a better experience for phone users:

- Scrolling between chapters, was a nice slide, you could see where you were going, now it just jumps and is hard to control!
- I suffer from Dyslexia and the mono-font style text that was used before made reading so much more easier, helped me read my Bible with ease, this is the only app that has catered for Dyslexic people!
- The verses followed along highlighted as David read aloud, it was very easy to follow along and pause so I could reflect. So very helpful due to having dyslexia my eyes would easily skip lines, having it highlighted makes following the words so much more easier and enjoyable!
- When you press the play button, it plays where you were last at rather than the chapter you’ve selected, you have to manually click on the verse and tell it to play, causing a hinderance.

My thoughts are if you make the app as easy to use, not only people will want to use it, but will encourage others to read the Bible more as it’s easier to access!

Mr

This app won’t do anything
What have I got todo to open it’s?

As a VoiceOver user, very disheartening

For a VoiceOver user, it is being generous for me to award two stars.
The following things were not accessible to me at all: – Apart from the navigation bar at the bottom, almost everything else was in accessible. I could not start the menu. I could not change books without unloading the app and reloading.
If you are blind or a voice over user, this app is not for you.

Great potential but falls short

I agree with all the challenges reported. The reading and emphasis is great but text does not follow reading for long and loses altogether when phone goes into battery save mode.
The highlighting when I’d does follow is hard to see. Moving forward or back is clumsy. At end of book, it stops and now does not automatically move to next book. I use it when driving so the lack of following or of changing books is a real issue esp on a long journey and across the shorter books.
I have raised the issues repeatedly by email, and to no avail. Come on guys, to a programmer this is not rocket science. You need to do better….

Okay but with missing basic features

Thought I’d give this app a go as an affordable way to have access to NIV audio Bible offline, but the lack of ability not to skip/rewind audio is very frustrating! The only options are to skip/rewind a whole chapter or to go into the app and then select a verse to play from. Quite disappointing given that this is a feature in pretty much every other audio app.

Developers, can you please add this basic feature? That would make the app so much better! Thanks

Fabulous audio!

I’ve used various digital and audio Bibles over the years. This one is, by far, my favorite. It’s not an easy thing to do a good reading of the Bible. This reading is great!

Hello. I’ve been using this app very gratefully. However,

However, I have an inquiry to ask for development for a better convenience.

It’d be really amazing if the audio play section allows us to keep playing whole or all lengths of audio files (without any pause if we want to)

Sometimes I just turn the audio on while I’m doing other tasks or rest.
It’s quite annoyingly inconvenient to keep checking the audio files that seemed paused (for me to click the next book of the scriptures)

I’m looking forward to hearing from you regarding this update!
Many thanks in advance.

Peace,

Rubbish

Why have they changed their (well Everything) When David is talking now the pages don’t move anymore so you have no idea where David is reading from It takes ages to find where he’s reading from I’m very upset and I want the old one back And normally you can see the bibles word highlighted well not on this one it is highlighted but very faintly and if you’re a poor eyesight sufferer you won’t see this highlighted this is terrible app now and altogether to technical for people who are not familiar with how to use a computer Aimee Media please change the app back to what is was before Or your going to loose a lot of people who would normally find this a great comfort in their life and sometimes you’ll find that this is the only comfort that they have in their lives But now it’s unusable for them they are lost

Thanks for listening and correcting the issue with previous issues it’s much appreciated

However if The Developers Could Fix This Problem Then It Would Be Perfect
As the text is read by David Suchet the words do move along with his voice now
Fantastic!!!!
But it Stays on The Same Page So if You Put Your device Down and Then Come Back To Read It Again It’s Still On The Same Page Extremely Extremely Frustrating
I Need This To Work Properly Because I Can’t Always Use My Arms

Please Help

A way to go

I’m enjoying this app and found it good value, but other people are correct when they say it’s not very intuitive.

Also, when I’m listening to the Bible at night, I like to have the app on a timer. Next morning however, the Bible is ready to pick up at where I started it, rather than however many minutes I set it to finish at. That’s a pain!

Faults in latest upgrade

More work needs to be done to fix the issues with the latest upgrade which has reduced the functionality rather than improving it. Previously the navigation allowed the user to go directly to any verse in the Bible. Now, despite choosing a specific verse, both the Go button and Play Audio button go to the start of the relevant chapter. Not useful with Psalm 119 for example!!

NIV Bible narrated by David Suchet

Love this,David is great to listen to. Sadly this new version has changed the font size settings which now makes it harder to read along with as my eyesight is not 20/20. There is such a small difference between normal and large font size that it is basically useless. The previous version was SOmuch better in this regard

What happened to the Bible in a year reading plan?

I’ve loved this app but the recent update seems to have removed one of its best features. Where is the Bible in a year reading plan now. I can’t find it!

A great way to motivate you to read the Bible

I’m new to reading the bible and this app has helped immensely with David Suchet’s first class reading. The app interface itself can be a real pain to navigate. It’s not very intuitive and can be glitchy. It doesn’t always highlight the text as you read along and tends to jump about if you switch from normal mode to Bible in One Year mode. Also annoying is that you can’t change the date to start from when you begin BIOY. You have to start at January 1st which makes it hard to keep on track. I’ve resorted to marking each day on a separate calendar. Great overall but annoying flaws that need fixing.

Great app. So well read. A couple of small issues.

The perfect voice for a bible reading app. He is magnificent to listen to and I find that he makes me appreciate familiar passages in a different way. I really appreciate the effort this recording must have taken. He clearly worked hard to understand the passage so as to read it with the right inflections.

As for the app itself. I listen in the car. When the car stops he sometimes starts reading in my pocket. He can read all day if my volume is down and completely drain the battery.
Also when I listen in the car the app doesn’t remember where I got up to. So even if he’s read for a couple of extra hours in my pocket the app still marks where I’m up to as being where I started from that day in the car.

Great audio, but terrible app design

David Suchet's reading is fantastic, just enough emphasis and expression to engage and bring the text to life, but avoiding the distracting over dramatisation of some audio versions.

However, it is such a shame that more care wasn't taken over developing the user interface. It is glitchy, and far from intuitive to use.

The feature to highlight text as it is read simply doesn't work. It is jumping all over the place. I don't understand how Apple allow apps on their store that promise features that don't work. In the real world you could take a physical purchase back to the shop for a refund if it didn't work as intended, but I suspect it is not that easy in the virtual world once they have your money.

There is another feature in the audio section that displays 3 starting points for readings. They seem to act like bookmarks, but there is no obvious way to set them. If you touch or hold them them just play from that point.

Swiping the pages from left or right is also glitchy. It's like the interface is fighting with you. It only works if you get right onto one edge of the screen and swipe fully across to the other edge.

Overall, I'm very disappointed that such great content has been packaged in such a poorly thought out way. I hope they take the time and money to start from scratch and completely rethink the UI.

Car play?

The app is great! As David reads the text he brings it alive.

Would it be possible to make it available for apple car play as well?

SUCH A BLESSING

This app, God’s Word and David’s brilliant reading voice brought me out of a dark place. I recently felt a God-prompt to remember and listen to this app that I downloaded in the middle of the pandemic. It is important to hear God’s word as well as read the Bible yourself. Great insight and truths are revealed by the Holy Spirit and discovered this way. How David manages to project his voice to narrate the Bible and also speak God’s words is impressive and such a blessing. Thank you. I give this app 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good app, poor sleep timer options

Overall good app, the voice is good and easy to listen to. I find it annoying that the only option for playing the audio is verse-by-verse or endless reading. There is a sleep timer but it’s only time based. I’d like to be able to set it to stop at the end of a chapter/psalm so you can hear a complete segment and then stop and reflect on that.

Please think about accessibility

My Mum loves David Suchet’s reading, however she is visually impaired, the ability to see white text on a black background is good but the navigation buttons and navigation text within this App are just too small and at present you cannot change these in settings. Would get five stars if some changes were made

Very good but-

Excellent however let down because the daily audio often jumps days during the readings or repeats as it has today!
