Great app, despite bugs

Has been one of my favorite apps for a while now. Hopefully they fix the bugs for iPhone 16 and up, not able to reorder and add clips to new sequences without the delete icon popping up. I am bummed because on my old iPhone 14 it had better quality exports. Now on the 16 it renders low resolution when zooming in. It’s not 4K. Also usually when you drag a clip to a new sequence, it’ll shift over to the sequence you want the clip to be a part of, but that doesn’t work with newer iPhones.

Thanks so much for your kind words – it means a lot that Nizo has been one of your favourites. Thank you for letting us know about these issues. We recently updated the rendering engine, along with haptic feedback and gestures. If you’re still seeing low resolution exports, or gesture issues when moving clips (or anything else we need to improve), please reach out to me directly at jason@nizo.co We’d love to look at your specific case and ensure you’re getting the best out of Nizo. Thanks again, and appreciate you taking the time to write. Jason

Surprised there’s not recent reviews

I’ve been using this app for several years, for the editing format and the other main reason is the quality of the video with the live lut overlay.

Even back when I had an iPhone 8, I noticed that this app takes very good advantage of the camera hardware, squeezing out detail and quality that I found hard to obtain, even with other apps. The live overlay is also extremely high quality.

I guess that summarizes what I like about this app. it’s simple. it doesn’t do a lot. but what it does, it does in extremely great detail as far as the image quality goes. anyway. I figured I’d leave a review since I’ve been using it for so long now. I’m surprised that this app didn’t become more popular tbh, but then again, I don’t think that was ever really the main goal for this one. I think it’s awesome. Cheers.

My primary video app

This is an excellent app. I use it for quick videos because I can shoot and edit all in one place then flip it to the camera roll to email or whatever. I also build larger projects over a day, like a hike or an event. I collect bits of video and add them to the project, then easily do a rough cut or even a final cut. Export to camera roll, add titles in iMovie if I want them or Premiere if I want to get fancy. I would still use FiLMic if I want more control of exposure and I want to edit in Premiere, but really, that’s not what Nizo is for. The simple combination of shooting and editing functionality makes me approach the whole process differently. It’s more fun and immediate than using a bunch of different apps and the final projects look great.

Keeps crashing.

Can’t believe I spent money on an app that crashes when I try to access the camera.
