A glimpse of amazement
Nice stable app, gave us an exciting preview of the Museum until we get to visit it 𓄤❤️𓉑𓄤
Requires signup
In order to view the QR codes on the displays to access information about the museum objects, you have to download this app. But the app requires you to create an account. Although it appears to offer a “guest” option, that button doesn’t work. Therefore, in order to access information about the museum displays, you *have* to create an account, including your address, phone number, etc. This is really intrusive and discriminatory. I already paid admission to the museum, why do I have to give my personal information in order to access information on the displays?

Released prematurely, but great promise!
I’m a big fan of ancient Egypt, have been several times, and I look forward to visiting NMEC and GEM later this year. I applaud this use of technology to enhance a physical visit. At the moment, the app is very incomplete. Most of the gallery pages have no content. The Museum store has a few replica pictures but no prices, no 3D scans, etc. The restaurant page is empty. No menus, no pix. The map is a single low res image with numbers no doubt intended as hot spots, no live links.
I look forward to seeing it fleshed out in the coming weeks.
