Great app when it works
I really like Noise Machine when it’s working properly. The brown noise options are excellent and do a great job helping me fall asleep and stay asleep. The sound quality is great, and the app is simple to use.
My biggest frustration is that it seems to require an internet connection far more often than it should. For an app whose primary function is to play brown noise, white noise, and other sleep sounds, I don’t understand why internet access is necessary. There have been times when I’ve wanted to use it while traveling or during connectivity issues, only to find it doesn’t work reliably.
If the sounds could be stored locally and made available offline, this would easily be a 5-star app. As it stands, it’s a great sleep aid that’s unfortunately too dependent on an internet connection.

Default Sound Change
I have used this app for years and love it - to the point I now pay for the subscription. The deep brown noise does something to my brain that I can’t describe.
And to that end, it would be amazing if there was a feature (especially when paying) that one could choose the default sound that the app uses. It remembers I want brown noise, but I have to select deep every time.

Simply the best
This app has legitimately been a game changer for me. I can use it with my AirPods while at the laundromat to be able to read (brown noise for this), while in the grocery store so I don’t experience sensory overload (I have a major sensory overload issue)(brown noise for this), I use it every single night if my life for sleep with my HomePod (pink noise is usually my preference for sleep but I occasionally alternate between green and brown as well), I also have ADHD and use this app a lot just from my phone speaker or with my AirPods when I’m just having trouble concentrating in general but especially if I can’t focus while I’m reading. (Brown noise tends to be my go to for this as well).
I also started using this app when babysitting for my best friend and found that pink noise is a miracle worker for babies nap time and sleep time. That friend now uses pink noise in their babies room every single night and has noticed a significant improvement in the amount of time staying asleep and overall quality of sleep for the baby 🖤
All in all I couldn’t be happier that I paid for this app. I’ve used several different apps and this one seems to create the most consistent, high quality sounds. I highly recommend it to anyone!
I will say, if you’re using it for sleep, I highly recommend a speaker of some sort because phone speakers just don’t quite do the trick for me personally. Although, you could have a totally different experience; I just wanted to put that out there.

App Sucks

App won’t load
Noise is great. But I have to delete and reinstall every three days. Because it won’t work after opening the app. Maybe fix this glitch. It sucks
Memory leak
After a few uses the app takes forever to load, which would seem to indicate memory leak. To get a return to normal functionality I have to uninstall the app from my iPhone and reinstall it.

Every time I go to launch the app, it just spins. I have to swipe up to close the app and then relaunch. Why is that?!?

Great app
Great option to help me sleep through the night. I have tinnitus 24/7, so this helps support my sleep quality. The new update needs a new update. I have to open and close, and open it again for it to work properly 😉
Great for traveling!!
I used it this weekend to help me fall asleep while on a trip. I was in a noisy room with teenagers ( my own with their friends ) making noise in the next room. Slept like a baby.

Paid for the lifetime unlock in 2019 — but this app still talks to dozens of ad networks in the background.
After ~10–15 minutes of simply playing noise (device locked), it continuously connects to domains like AppLovin, Unity Ads, InMobi, Moloco, TikTok/DoubleClick. This goes well beyond normal analytics and looks like a full ad mediation stack running even when no ads are shown.
I asked the developer; they confirmed paid users don’t see ads, but didn’t address this behavior and didn’t respond to a follow-up.

$9 /week for 4 noises??? Free trial plays an ad and you can only listen for 5 mins? Literally going to the settings of the app played an ad

This is great. I have it go through my blue tooth face mask at night and it helps me sleep

The noise is great, but I have to pay annually AND you losers track me too?! I only noticed when the app wouldn’t open when I had ad-blocking on. SMH. Freaking jerks.
