Almost fully meet my use case, want to report one bug.

First I have to thank you the developer(s) to provide this app and make it free. This is very nice of you. :) There‘s one issue while using the virtual keyboard (or maybe the physical keyboard as well), when I want to type the character „y“, it always jumps out character „z“. I know this is probably a software compatibility issue between „de“ (German) keyboard layout and the default „en“ layout in the app. I hope the developer(s) can fix this issue. Sorry to forget mentioning the involved system, this happens between using IOS app on the phone and Ubuntu PC OS. Look forward to seeing a better performance of this app! Thanks in advance! :)

Hello Captain A1exander, thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues. As per our general guidelines, please ensure that the virtual keyboard language matches your desktop language: this is required for accurate key mapping. If you need further assistance, feel free to contact us at info@nomachine.com. We’re happy to help.

Well done. Works great. Just one problem.

I used it to access my home desktop from my office for a whole week and loved it. Thank you for the trial.
I’m willing to pay for a year of service but only if I can purchase it through the Apple App Store instead of entering my credit card information through the developers website.
I’ll be back when that’s possible.

Response from developer

Hello, thank you for your feedback, we’re thrilled you liked our application. Just to clarify: the iOS app itself is completely free, and there’s no in-app purchase required to use it. The Network service you mentioned is an optional, separate service that enables connections from any device to any device, not just iOS devices. Because it is a cross-platform service and not part of the iOS app itself, it isn’t something that can be purchased through the App Store. If you decide to enable the Network service, you can do so through the NoMachine website. You can continue using the iOS app for free and connect to your machines via their IP address. If you have any questions about how the service works or what it includes, please contact us at info@nomachine.com.

Edit from 1 Star: Works great !

When I first tried this service, I could not get it to work. But the developers responded to my review and we exchanged emails and we got it working on my systems! I will always respect active and responsive owners of services. The issue I was facing was not opening a port on the computer I was connecting to, doing that allowed me to connect when it was failing to before.

Hello, thank you for your feedback and for giving us the opportunity to help. We’re glad we could work together to resolve the issue and get everything running properly on your system. Opening the required port is a common step that can be easily overlooked, so we appreciate you pointing it out for other users. If you need any assistance in the future, please feel free to reach out anytime.

Does not work.

I don’t want to use the network, and I can’t connect via IP. I was hoping it would be simple and nice like people were saying, so I’m kinda bummed.

Doesn’t work anymore on M1 chip Ipad pro

A year ago I used to use this app alot. But now it won’t start no matter what I do.

Fantastic App

I’m not sure if people were experiencing old bugs which have been patched, or if consumerism really has addled the minds of all. This app is FREE and works VERY well for what it is. If it works with iOS 26 upon release then I might even consider donating to the dev. I’m not sure why people are giving negative reviews. Once you learn the ins and outs of how to interact with the app(might already be obvious to you if you’re in networking, I am not and relied heavily on GPT to set up a Linux vm on a VPS etc) I use my iPad to access VM through this app predominantly, and I’m super pleased with it as a whole. I connected a K10HE wireless keyboard and an M7 wireless mouse to the iPad Air (M2 chipset) and they work beautifully inside of NoMachine as well. I haven’t yet noticed any dead clicks or keystrokes.

The only negative thing I could possibly say if I really wanted to nitpick, is that on a headless Linux vm the free version is locked to 800x600. There’s even a workaround for that as well so it’s honestly more of a nitpick than a negative. I mean, they have to incentivize you to buy the app somehow 😂

Response from developer

Hello, Thank you very much for the 5-star review, we truly appreciate it! The headless Linux server uses a virtual desktop, and its geometry can be changed by you through a server side setting (DisplayGeometry) or by just resizing it in the Display app menu, opened from the side bar.

Work suprisingly well, assumed the worst from the reviews

My main issue is that the menu options aren't intuitive, kinda take over the whole screen, otherwise it works well, easy connection, controls as expected, use any desk as an example its much easier to quick swap monitors and other options there

Even works well over tailscalevpn and cellular connection when not home, does require manually entering the tailscale ip

Hello, thank you for the 5-star review! We're glad to hear everything is working smoothly for you, including over Tailscale and cellular connections. You mentioned the interface isn’t very intuitive — we’re always working to improve, so we’d love to hear how you think it could be more user-friendly. Feel free to share your thoughts at info@nomachine.com.

Not really usable…

…when changing to a reasonable (and usable) display resolution on an iPad Air, it simple crashes and takes all stored settings with it. So one finds him/herself entering connection and account data over and over again. Sorry, that’s no fun at all.

Complete screw up

Nomachine was by far been best with audio support seamless connection. Till this latest updates of adding machines to network with user id. Looks like some school kid was given in charge of coming up with a design like this. Even they may do it better in today’s age. This mobile app as 2fa is a complete screwup. Not sure why it has to be this complicated. After some long struggle I could remove my machine, annoying catch 22 situation during start up. I could go back to old way of connecting, which thankfully still works and is best.

Not the prettiest but it works !

Sometimes when nothing else does just roll with what gets the job done . App is great text is sometimes a bit fuzzy but in a pinch gets the job done

time for an update please guys

When the app works, it works well.

However, it needs a quick refresh so that after making changes I don't have to disconnect and reconnect my external keyboard.

Doesn't download even though App Store states it works on iPad mini.

Unbelievable it’s free

Some of the reviews here are rather nitpicking in my opinion; I don’t think you can find a more fully functional or flexible remote access capability than this one. I use it to access my home machine and operate it remotely and transfer files just as easily from work as across the country or the Atlantic. I’ve even used it to shadow my wife’s machine as she presents webinars to her clients, and switch out her PowerPoint and PDF presentations so she can concentrate on her talk. I run it on a Mac Mini desktop, a MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, two different iPhones and an HP Z-book. All talk equally clearly to each other as if they were together on a wired Ethernet. There really isn’t anything I can express as a negative in using this software, and I’ve been on it pretty much every day for the past six or seven years. Recommend!

Easy!

After installing on my windows PC had an easy time logging in using my windows account login!

Hope support Chinese

It’s a good software. Hope support Chinese one day.

No Apple Keyboard support

App works fine with the exception that the apple keyboard case doesn’t work. The trackpad portion works, but the keyboard is recognized at all

Works well to use my Ubuntu PC on my iPad

Microsoft Remote Desktop app may be better, I’m not sure

Works well

Don’t understand the bad reviews. This works amazingly well. It was a huge step up
from using Google Remote Desktop.

no much update for a while

app is not useable at the moment. The login username only allow single letter
