People are sleeping on this gem of an app!
What is working well:
+ I love the simple layout of the app. It is visually uncluttered and easy to navigate.
+ I love the “nutri-score” feature where it provides a grade for the foods you consume.
+ I love how the Sugar Impact is displayed. As someone that’s actively trying to do a better job of managing their blood sugar, this was a pleasant surprise!
+ I love how right next to Sugar Impact is Fiber, because those who are trying to monitor their blood sugar know, the way you prevent or minimize blood sugar spikes is thru Fiber.
+ It’s great to be able to go in and get feedback about how what you’re eating is helping/hurting your weight loss (or gain) goals. Likewise, it provides suggestions (e.g. add a lean meat to a meal or eat more veggies later) while giving you that positive reinforcement when you make wise food selection choices. I love how this app does these in the moment PER tracked item, versus a lot of apps make you do weekly check-ins and really minimize a lot of the good that you did throughout the week, which is discouraging.
+ The explanations throughout are thorough and easy to follow/understand.
+ The text AI is solid once you get a system down. I’ve found it’s most accurate when I type what I’m eating and copy and paste the nutritional facts in along with my serving or portion size.
What could be improved:
- I wish the daily macro goals were ranges instead of just hard targets. One food app I used was ranges and I found it easier to stay within a range when you know you have that flexibility to play with. Additionally, going over in protein may not be as bad as say going over in fat - depending on your goals.
- I wish there were an option to select foods that you’ve entered and group them into meals. I’ve found that the itemized item inputs are not always accurate but if I put in the item and copy and paste the corresponding nutritional facts in with it, it’s spot on. Because of this, I don’t feel comfortable putting everything in as meals because you wouldn’t be able to catch when things are not going in accurately (well not without having all the labels and doing a lot of math).
- I wish there was a memory or history for previously tracked items and items that you try to type in with AI that it previously got wrong, it provides the same wrong values again.
- I wish there was a Meals/Snack Suggestion area. Yes, it does kind of give you little suggestions here and there in the what you’re doing well/what you could be doing better sections - but it feels like there should be a button for ideas based on what macros you have left.
- For the previously-mentioned feature and the meal planning - it just randomly generates ideas seemingly out of thin air. It doesn’t appear there’s a way to input a “pantry” or “fridge/freezer” list of what you already have on hand to inform the meal planning.
- Photo AI scanning is hot and go in regards to accuracy. It correctly identified milk and protein powder when shot separately. Both required tweaks to the actual nutritional values because the values provided were not correct. When I combined these into a protein shake and tried to take a picture, it was interpreted as a smoothie with wildly inaccurate nutritional facts.
Other future ideas:
- Dedicated water tracking.

Disappointed

Dear customer thanks for your feedback. You can change your weight goal in settings. Please reach to support@noot.health if you have any challenges with that The app follow standard nutrition plate balance and does not propose specific diet like keto as this requires medical advice to manage serious health risks like kidney stones, nutrient deficiencies, and dangerous interactions with medications for conditions like diabetes. We encourage you to share examples of meal logs that have been wrong so we can explore deeper where the problem is. Reach out to support@noot.health
Can you add a few more tweaks?
