The developers seem to have stopped working on it
I’ve emailed support, offered a lot of input, and even sent screen recordings of bugs in action. It’s 11 months without an update. This developer seems to have abandoned the app. Might be time to switch to Beli or So Good.
So glad I found this app!
I love this app! It’s a great alternative to Google maps for organizing places I want to go. I like that you can create custom lists. A suggestion: I would love to be able to label places with emojis on the map, so instead of looking at the map and seeing a bunch of pins and hearts, there could be separate icons for each of my lists. I would also love to be able to put my lists in a custom order. Right now when I make a new list, the spot that it gets put into is completely random which is a little frustrating. And finally, I would love if friends could see my saved places and lists automatically without me having to send them a link.

Think the developers gave up on this app
Had an issue and wrote to the developers with no response. Feels like maybe this app was abandoned so wouldn’t invest too much time into it.
Not recommended, it’s pointless
You can do most of what this app does in Apple or Google maps. Apple Maps gives great guides and very private. Who knows what this app does with my data, it’s free so you are the product. Only difference is adding friends but Apple and Google maps has so much more data, reviews, guides and lists. Sorry but no point to this app. Just another app to have for nothing.

A dream!
As someone who was constantly Googling and Instagram searching the best spots for coffee or cocktails anytime I went to a new city—North takes all the hard work out of finding the best places, even in my own hometown! I no longer have to keep silly lists in my Notes app. I also love being able to collaborate and share with friends to get recommendations and keep track of where I’ve been. Massive round of applause!

Great for organizing my “Spots”
This app was definitely missing from my phone before! When friends visit town I used to send them long texts with restaurant and coffee shop recommendations- now I can share my spots on here. Plus, it’s great to have a location to gather all the restaurant recommendations I get that’s not just a note in my phone!

How did this not exist already?
This is a pretty simple idea that is executed incredibly well. The idea of having a “place for your places” where you can save and share all the spots that are important to you, places you want to try, ones you want to share with your friends… it almost seems like it would just be built into your phone already, but this is the first version of this concept I’ve come across that actually works well! This app does a great job of making everything simple and user-friendly. Love it!

The simplicity 👩🏼🍳💋
This is soooo much better than my previous system (my previous system was my own brain). I love that it's not public too; I just want to share my favorite spots with friends visiting town, I don't need everyone in the city to know.
North fills a major life void for this frequent adventurer
I travel a ton to cities large and small, and given the combo of my work and personal travel, I’m constantly wanting a way to document the best tips I get and the best experiences I have. I’ve tried everything — iPhone notes, google docs, heaps of yelp reviews as a minor history, but nothing brings together the wide range of features North gives me to chart my next adventure and document what I loved most about my last. I also love that the next time someone asks me what to do in Paris, I can simply share my list on North, and they’ll have immediate, highly usable insights. Beautiful design, insightful feature set. How can I say how much I love North?
I use North all the time. It’s great for planning upcoming trips, but also for exploring my own city better! Every week I try to go to one new place and North has made keeping track of that much easier.

This app is really well done and super useful for keeping my place lists organized. The smart lists automatically categorize which saves a ton of time. I use it to organize lists of restaurants and for planning places to visit on vacations. Great design and easy to use. Highly recommend!
