The app also applies per-state field rules automatically. For example, Illinois, Montana, Mississippi, Pennsylvania and Texas prohibit recording ID numbers in the journal, so the app hides that field there, while California, Massachusetts and Missouri require it. Some states require a paper journal (for example Arizona, Missouri and Washington); there the app can serve as a supplementary record.
