Currently buggy
I tried to get this to work. Sometimes the lesson loads sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes the buttons work, sometimes it doesn’t. The app is only sized for iPhone; the iPad is scaled. The app is not working well with my audio interface either. I’ve tried my iPhone and iPad. All around this needs to be updated. I’ll revise my review after that.

User Friendly, Way Less Expensive vs Private Lessons
I’ve been messing around on the guitar for years and recently wanted to step my game up. Notewize has been the perfect companion for sharpening my guitar playing.

I got this app for my wife who is learning guitar. It’s just 10 days in, and she can already read basic tabs, has learned several chords, and is playing along with a few of her favorite songs. This is really cool to see her progress! The videos are really clear and the pacing is excellent.

I’ve been learning guitar for a few months now and recently came across Notewize. It’s been really helpful for finally getting bends down! I also love their note detection feature - which works much better than some of the other apps I tried out.

I am new to playing guitar, and so after looking at different apps, this is the one that I like. The lessons are easy to understand, and the teacher is super professional and clear with instruction. There are backing tracks along with simple songs that enable even a newbie like me to play. I’m sure that songs get harder as you move forward in the coursework, but since I can control the tempo, I’m not too worried about it. I haven’t paid for the note detection yet, but I will be - I think this app is worth it!

Better than other guitar apps.
During the summer I don’t really have a guitar teacher and I’ve been trying to find another way to learn the guitar. So I hopped onto my phone to search for something before the school year ended for some way for me to learn the guitar and I saw the apps like Yousitian, the fender app, and etc. But they all were boring with just a random person forcing me on what to do without properly telling me what to do. Plus it even costed money for that! Till someone reached out to me about Notewize and how it was still at it’s beta testing phase. And I love helping out and so I started testing the app. And it was great and it stood out instantly from the other apps because there is a person in a video that properly explains on how to do your thing on the guitar based on the lesson. Also what makes this better is that they post parts of the teachings on YouTube, TikTok, and etc! It shows you what you would get if you got some of Notewise pro! And by being a beta tester and testing out the tuner and note detection I feel like the app has improved since the launch with the detection. Another thing that this app has that I feel like others don’t have is that you can manipulate the speed of the lesson when you start playing. You get the choices 60% 80% 100% and even 120%. You even get a practice mode too to furthermore help you out. I would definitely would recommend this app.

Very logical and clearly constructed app. Great way to jump start your learning journey.
So impressed!
I’m a total beginner, and so far I’m really impressed and expect to keep using this app. I’ve tried a couple that teach guitar, but this has been the most intuitive and easy to follow. The UI is clean and engaging, and the videos have been informative without being overwhelming. I’m still working through the videos about parts of the guitar and how to hold it, so I’ll update when I get further in. However, so far, I’m really happy.
