Helps me pick good books to read
Been using this for a few months now. I’m not a huge reader and could never find any books i could get into. Really enjoying the selection I’m recommended by Novellic and I just might read more than three books this year!
Not for me
I did not like how books were chosen for recommendation so I wanted to delete my account. But it refuses to let me.
You have to enter your name to delete the account. I’ve done my name, user name, password…. Nothing works it will not delete my account!

Good Ideas, Bad Execution
Love the ideas that this app is clearly trying to pull off. Getting recommendations automated based on your reading habits and being able to ask for specific recommendations from the community would be fantastic. Unfortunately this app is kind of impossible to use or understand.
There’s no guidance for how the books you input on your profile will affect your recommendations, seemingly anything you’ve read is counted as a thing you want more of and the only way to indicate dislike for a book is saying you didn’t finish it, which just isn’t always the case. Also inputting books by looking each up individually is such a hassle.
As for the community recommendations, as you’re typing out a request or response there’s no indication that there’s a character limit but apparently there is because I’ve seen both requests and responses that simply cut off in the middle of a word. I had this happen to one of my own and there was no indication that I couldn’t write a response that was that length. To top it all off, there’s no organization in the search function. You can’t search for an author and find all of their works. When you search some books a bunch of editions show up with no indication of what the differences are other than the covers. Oh, and there’s a lot of books and authors that apparently just don’t exist to this app and there’s no way to add them yourself or request that they be added. And I’m not talking about some small time indie author, this includes best selling authors with half a dozen books put out by a major publisher.
Overall, a frustrating waste of time trying to use this app. I can only hope that they’ll improve it but given that it’s apparently existed for at least four years already I don’t have much hope.

Can’t even open the app
Really awful! You download the app, but can’t actually get onto it. It just showing you the circle of doom spinning round and round..... in 2021 this is pretty poor!
Quick response to solve my problem
EDIT: After I posted my problem on here, I received a reply from the founder, and the problem was quickly solved.
Now that I can access it, the app looks good. I had an issue with choosing favourite genres after my first login, but more genres are available through your profile. Another frustration is that many book club founders include all genres in the club profile, even if their interests are quite narrow. I assume this is so they can get more people to waste time looking at clubs that don't interest them.
It seems that you can only rate books that are already listed in the app, which is understandable but quite limiting. I have only three books on my To Be Read list in the app, but more than ten times that many in real life, which is another frustration. Still a useful app, though.

Great App, Great Customer Service
I downloaded this app a couple of days ago and was having trouble creating an account, I jumped onto Instagram to get some tech help and they were great. They walked me through suggestions which didn’t initially work and then the founder of the app jumped into the conversation to try and resolve the problem them-self, sent me an email and worked. Since having used the app I love it. During covid its been difficult to see people and be engaged with things and this app gave me the opportunity to read books that others on the app are reading and discuss opinions with them. I also love the fact that I can read quick synopsis of books, find books easily based on genre and if I want even buy books through the app. It even tells me other users who are reading a book I’ve searched and allows me to connect with them.

An amazing app to organize your reading life!
As a passionate reader who’s always looking for the next big read, the Novellic app has been tremendously helpful and fun to use. It is so easy to add any books I come across and want to include in my TBR list, keep track of my read and favorite books, and look up new recommendations. I have read a lot of books personalized by Novellic and I have enjoyed every single one. I love checking out all the different book clubs and see what everyone else is reading. The new addition of the yearly reading challenge is the cherry on top.
I recommend this app for anyone who wants to keep their reading life organized, up to date, and handy.

My book keeper
Novellic is super for keeping track of all the books I’ve read and the many many more I have yet to read. The recommendations are great but really it’s the fact that I can see a book and immediately look up what it’s about and save it for later... I find I use the app mostly when I’m between books and need a reminder of what I’d added to my TBR!
The book clubs are also fun and a great way to follow others with similar reading taste.

Terrible
I used to use the old version of the Novellic app with no issues. Now however I cannot login, the app says that my email address doesn’t exist. However when I try to create a new account, it says my email address is already in use!
Then when I try contacting Novellic it’s says there is an error sending my message.
This is truly the worst experience with an app I have ever had.

Nice idea, if it worked
Love the idea of this app but a massive shame it is slow AF, not smooth at all and overall frustrating to use. Spent most of my time waiting for things to load! Deleted it!
Great for readers
Super app for finding new books to read - I'm not really one for book clubs but the store is great and it's so easy to buy books. Found a few great gems! Recommended for all readers...
No androids
This app could be improved by allowing android users to download the app, or at least use a web version of it. It limits the people we can invite to join the book club. This app has a lot of positive features that are perfect for our needs but some of our book club members are excluded because of this issue.
Also, it would be nice if more options were available to look at through the different genres and not show books that I have already selected for my favorites and/or wishlist.

Great but biased
I have downloaded 6 apps total and this one was by far the best for our book club needs. The biggest downfall is that some of our members have been left out because they don't have iPhones. When we found out android users can't get it, we went to the web. I was highly disappointed that there isn't even a web version that my android friends can use. Now we have basically alienated those few because we can't find any apps that cater to both users and our book club needs.

Doesn't work
On third screen where I type what I want to read it freezes and shuts off the app. Not good

Sounds awesome but
It force closed so much I couldn't get past the initial sign up, I tried at least four times and it would force close in the same spot every time

Its good
Its good but it could be greater. More people would make it better and more book choices and genres and maybe put a thing where you can get the book for free.

Poor app
This app is extremely frustrating as it doesn't work properly.
There is no help or support areas on the app or website.
I signed up to use this for a book club and you can't even add the book you are reading to use the app in a basic form.
Really disappointed and after an hour am none the wiser as to how to get it to work.
