About

Nowlark turns anything you run into a notification on your iPhone. One HTTP request. No account to create, no password, no sign-in. Open the app and it is already yours: Nowlark keys itself to your iCloud, so your other Apple devices find the same account without you typing anything. WHAT IT IS FOR A backup that finishes at 3am. A build that fails. A scraper that finally finds the thing it has been watching for. A server that is about to run out of disk. Anything that knows something you want to know, with no good way to tell you. curl https://nowlark.com/v1/notify \ -H "X-Nowlark-Key: nlk_..." \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"source":"Backup","title":"Finished","priority":1}' That is the whole integration: bash, Python, cron, a webhook, anything that can make an HTTP request. FIVE LEVELS OF URGENT Not everything deserves the same interruption. A pruned snapshot can wait quietly in the list; a disk about to fill should break through a Focus. Nowlark has five priority levels and the top two arrive time-sensitive, which is what lets an alert through when your phone is set to leave you alone. And the top level keeps alerting, every few minutes, until you open it, so a server that goes down at 3am is not one buzz you sleep through. Time-sensitive is free. Charging for the alert you cannot afford to miss would be the wrong thing to sell. SOURCES, NOT A PILE Every sender names itself, and Nowlark keeps them apart. Give each one a colour so a busy feed is readable without reading it. Silence the chatty one so it still arrives and still shows a banner but never makes a sound. Mute one entirely and it is still recorded, so nothing is lost by quieting it. WORKS WITH WHAT YOU RUN Uptime Kuma, anything built on Apprise and many other self-hosted apps already have an ntfy option: set its server to Nowlark, paste a Nowlark key as the access token, and nothing else changes. Each app's topic becomes its own source. Scripts written for Prowl work too. Nowlark answers Prowl's API, so they only need the new address and a Nowlark key. Priority keeps Prowl's -2 to 2 scale, and now 1 and 2 break through a Focus, which Prowl never could. ON YOUR APPLE WATCH Nowlark on Apple Watch gets its own notifications, so a watch with cellular hears about the server going down with your iPhone off. It joins your iPhone's account with nothing to type. It comes with the Upgrade Pass. LINKS THAT GO WHERE YOU WANT A notification can carry a link, and a web address written inside the message becomes tappable on its own, so a build log and the commit that broke it are both one tap away. Links open in the in-app browser or your own, whichever you choose, including the button on the notification itself. NO ACCOUNT, BY DESIGN There is nothing to sign into and nothing to leak. Your account key lives in your iCloud Keychain and your own private iCloud database. No email address is collected, no password exists, and there is no third-party login. Moving to a new iPhone on the same Apple Account needs no setup at all. MADE TO BE LOOKED AT Colour, app icon, whether the icon carries an unread count, whether opening a notification marks it read. Text scales with Dynamic Type, up to the accessibility sizes. FREE, AND HONEST ABOUT IT One device and one API key, free, with no advertising anywhere. The only limit on sending is 1,000 an hour per key, and that is there to stop a runaway script rather than to sell you anything. The Upgrade Pass adds Nowlark on every device you own, a key per script, up to a year of history, images and buttons on notifications, and your choice of tones. Take it yearly, and everything it unlocks stays yours even after it ends, or buy it once for life, including everything added later. Nowlark is made by one person. Nothing is done with your notifications except deliver them to you. Terms of Use: https://nowlark.com/terms Privacy Policy: https://nowlark.com/privacy
