This app provides high-resolution topographic and national park maps for offline GPS navigation. It allows you to see your location in real-time on these maps, even in areas with no cellular service. You can download maps for the USA and its island territories for use during road trips, hikes, camping, and exploration.
Key features include offline GPS navigation, access to a vast library of NPS and USGS maps, real-time location tracking, waypoint creation with an Augmented Reality finder, route path creation, and GPS track recording. It also supports various coordinate formats and allows for map rotation and heading following.
The app offers a subscription model for unlimited map downloads. The first several map downloads are complementary. A subscription stops ads and does not auto-renew. Specific pricing details for the subscription are not provided in the description.
The app is designed for iPhone and iPad. It utilizes Apple Maps for a familiar interface and integrates with your device's GPS for location services. While maps can be downloaded over WiFi, the app is intended for use without an internet connection once maps are installed.
This app is invaluable for any activity that takes you to areas with limited or no cell service, such as visiting national parks, backcountry hiking, camping, or extensive road trips. It ensures you can navigate, track your progress, and find your way even without an internet connection.
