This app does what it says with no fuss. I've tried a bunch of mids and soundfonts through it and all works as expected. The Playing Next feature is super handy as well.
The app works well with VoiceOver as well everything's clearly labeled. I like the little track viewer too. Hear the various parts of a midi in isolation.

I want to preview percussion
I paid $8 thinking the fee would allow me to preview drum tracks. Nope just piano. Wasted my money. Please fix this wtf

Great app! A few suggestions though…
So this app is *amazing*, but i think there are some much needed quality of life changes. 1. Pause the audio when a Bluetooth audio device connects/disconnects, and 2. Add a toggle for if changing sound font restarts the midi. Also, the sound font “alex_gm.sf2” crashes the midi player.

This app has been good to me. I love it after my friend showed me how to use it then I was good and now I can play my files and now I could play the Janktech sound font

OMG BEST APP EVER WHAT
I’VE BEEN TRYING TO PLAY THE MUSIC FROM KIRBY MASS ATTACK FOR SO LONG BUT I COULDNT FIND SOMETHING THAT COULD PLAY IT CORRECTLY AND NOW I’VE BEEN BLESSED BY THE HOLY NS MIDI PLAYER APP AND ALL MY LIFE PROBLEMS ARE SOLVED
It’s fine but crashes often
For $7.99 I would expect less crashes and more stability
Can’t you save the playlists?
It is paid to make the playlists at the moment, nice audio but the app for musicians or listeners is not practical at all.
Cool but one thing I should suggest though
It's awesome but I want you to add an update which let you replace the soundfont's instrument,for example: changing a guitar to a piano
FIXED - No sound
New review: there was something wrong with the volume of the first .mid file I tried; it was a whisper at 100% volume. I tried another and it sounded normal. Old review: Downloaded. No sound when I try to play a .mid file. Rebooted Mac. No sound. All system sound settings are normal. App set to play thru Mac speakers; really nothing I can see needing to change. I will change stars if I can get this working.

Totally worth the update to get a playlist for my gigs!

Useful and inexpensive to use with no ads.
Bad
Had to buy premium for conversion just to find it’s much worse than the source audio. Ridiculous waste of money. One free conversion should be offered to test.
Was great before, just good now
This app is absolutely fantastic for what it does: playing MIDI files with sound fonts. Only complaint I have is that the app seems to have slowed down considerably following a recent update. Loading midi files and soundfonts used to be near instantaneous, but now it takes several seconds (and even upwards of 30 for a particularly large file) to load. I don’t know how you managed to make the app slower. Otherwise, it’s fantastic.

Big midis are a nono 1.2 mb midi will take forever or oftentimes wont open.
Edit in response to developer: Although rare, some midi files can be pretty long songs, the one in this case is a 36 minute long midi, I have another with is 49 minutes and takes 888 KB… larger midis are rare but they do exist.

Simple AND useful MIDI and SoundFont player
Is it possible to alter the pitch, otherwise I am extremely happy with this for my work with MIDI

Fantastic midi player
Love this app! The default soundfont is awesome and midi classics sound just like how I remember them. It even supports custom soundfonts and sending midi out to hardware devices. Such a powerful app- thank you!
Amazing app
This app is amazing, I like listening to the FreeDooM soundtrack with the GZDooM sound font, and this app allows me to do all of that for free! This app is just what I need, as all other apps that do the same require me to pay money and are terrible to use. 10/10 app.
