Responsive Developer

My initial impression of this app was not good due to some interface and preference issues. I left a review detailing the issues and the developer promptly issued a couple of updates that addressed and fixed the issues. Nice to know the developer listens to feedback and takes action if it’s warranted!

Hi Rjay23, Thanks for checking out NubCal and for taking the time to share your feedback — it means a lot to us! 🙏 We’ve recently released an update that adds support for imperial measurements (lbs & inches), and also fixes the cut-off issue with year fields during onboarding. We hope you’ll give the updated version a try and see the improvements — we’re committed to making NubCal better with every update!

All metric, confusing

For some reason they only have a metric option, and you have to get through a long script asking a lot of metric data about your body just to start. I was able to convert with a metric-imperial calculator and fill them in, but even after getting that done as well as the mandatory signup with Apple it brings you to a dashboard full of only metric displays. I’m a dummy in America and Reagan made massive moves to stop our progress toward living in the metric system… the app developers have this in the US store, price things in dollars, and yet have no option for imperial units?!? I can’t see this very useful for anyone not extremely fluent in metric measurements.

Hi EthericMustard, Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts — we completely understand how frustrating that must’ve been. We’re happy to let you know that imperial units (lbs and inches) are now fully supported in NubCal! 🎉 We’ve also improved the onboarding flow to make things much clearer and faster to set up. Please update to the latest version and give it another try — we think you’ll find it much more user-friendly now! Thanks again for helping us improve!

Not promising

I downloaded this to check it out but my initial impression is not great. I know the world’s on metric but the potentially large number of US customers would suggest an option for imperial measurements would be nice.

Worse though, was the cut off text field when originally setting up the app. Years appear as 19… or 20… Also, I can’t find out how to edit my goal weight after initially entering it. We’ll see if I my opinion of the app changes after using it a bit.

Unnecessarily Complicated

Couldn’t even get past onboarding . It doesn’t show what units it is using to measure things like height. Asks for my dob and there were no options except days, no months and no years. Complete waste of time. SMH!!

Response from developer

Hi PawsLaws#1, We’re really sorry for the frustrating experience you had. The issues you mentioned — including the date of birth input and unclear units — have now been fully resolved in our latest update. We’ve also added support for imperial units, so you can now choose pounds and inches during onboarding. Please update to the latest version of NubCal, and everything should work smoothly. Thanks for your feedback — it helped us improve!
