#1 fx on App Store

Preface: This app is potentially life changing..

Thank you for making this. An all in one fx rack that essentially replaces any others I use, save for a few specific ones. Minor learning curve (if you don’t watch any tutorials). Everything’s super self explanatory except for deleting modules and routing- still easy to figure out though..
The ability to customize makes effects freaks like me salivate 😌. Being able to split sound in so many ways: L / R, Frequency range, etc. gives you the power to manipulate sound to a degree that would blow the mind of a sound engineer of the past.

I have two things I would like the crew that made this to see.
1. I ask for one more time based effect. ¡A straight reverse reverb! I love the reverse delay, and use it alll the time, but often I just want the tail to be reversed and play at the same time. I have achieved something close to it playing with routing, blend, and the rev. delay + regular reverb, but it makes my brain tired.
2. Sometimes adding a module will just crash the whole rack, and sometimes other racks that are being used at the same time. I do have a slightly older iPhone, but it happens quite often. Especially with the reverse reverb. This phenomena and other random bugs that cause crashes can be frustrating. And SCARY too! Middle of the night, you’re making a lush and gentle ambient instrumental. All of a sudden you hear clicking and popping, feedback, and explosions in your ears at like 100db. Let me know if you’d like more on my feedback, I’d love to talk to developers about this amazing app. The crashing, and the crashing being physically painful sometimes is the only thing holding this back from 100% perfection.

With that being said, I can’t ask for 100% perfection. Especially at the unbelievable price point.

One of my favorite purchases of all time.
The quality of sound, variety of features, customization, and usability is well worth the price. A multi effects vst for the pc on this level would be $300+.

Huge thank you to the developers, from the bottom of my heart. As a broke 22yr old with a burning passion for music and sound..
I’m so blessed to be able to acquire top of the line tools and still be able to eat, pay rent, etc.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!

P.S.:
My most used Preset I’ve made:
Splitter: {Rev. Delay + Reverb}
{tape delay + harmonizer or vocal doubler} Send both to mixer, pan them hard in opposite directions.
Not too crazy but it is a potent combo.

Can’t removed placed modules

Hope you don’t want to change any modules location or remove them after place, because it seems you can’t. Kinda breaks any utility for making complex patches as the individual modules are pretty shoddy. Unfortunately, not broken enough to be accepted for a return. Would be zero stars.

This is very cool.

Just starting out using the Ipad for music. I had only the free effects available on the app store, scattered across different auv3's, and of questionable quality and/or abilities. This app gives me every effect I could possibly need and the ability to customize these effects into a single rack, (or multiple racks in series and parallel). ... And, man, can you customize. It has a has a modular toolkit that lets you build all the effects you want, contained in a single effet slot. Mr. Paul knocked it out of the park again.

I wonder, ifPaul were IK Multimedia , the cost would exceed thousands

This is another super fantabulous gift from the hall of famer dev of the Ios. one of the most respected and remarkable developers, and boy did he do justice, hes gonna lay every other devs down.

if you don’t buy it, you’ll definitely depart much early from the production game.

Respect, 4pockets!

we love you!

Useless unless they move the “load/save” button from top left corner

Your “app support” link goes nowhere. I am trying to use this in algoriddim djay app, but since plugins open in windowed mode there is a permanent bar along the top that covers the “load/save” menu button that you put at the very top. That means I can’t save in-djay configurations and can’t load configurations I make directly in your app.

If you move it down a little, or make a long press anywhere open the load/save menu, that would fix it. Unless you do that this effect is quite useless.

Incidentally, it would be great to allow users to open any stand-alone effect they have already purchased instead of being limited to your built-in effects. I already have your multi-band compressor effect which is better than the one included here: I am basically just trying to add an equalizer on top of that.

Thanks

Awesome

I’ve meddled around with NuRack for months and I’ve still not scratched the surface. I watched a YouTube video by the legendary Jamie Mallender and purchased the app instantly.
I have most of 4Pockets Paul’s apps because they are always top quality. And he’s a Yorkshireman like myself.
If you want to build unique midi set ups to use in Aum, Cubasis and now Logic Pro. Look no further.

Removing connections causes the app to crash

Other than that I’m impressed

Used in every one of my projects

This app makes setting up efx so painless and keeps the Auv3 fx slots tidy and simple, setting up racks in just one instance per track where before there’d need to be a bunch of separate apps. Yet, it feels like it barely makes a dent in CPU. It’s got mostly everything, if not everything, one needs, fx wise and more, including a bunch of great MIDI tools. I love it and can’t do without at this point.

Love this plugin

I’m super pleased with the in-depth and extensive capabilities and creativity that comes with this!! It’s been working great however after iOS 15 update it seems to crash all the time … help? Any thoughts?

Blown away

This app is flexible, powerful and inspiring, and the best deal out of all the ios fx apps imho, it turns my ios device into a very powerful multi effects. Wow, thank you

Crashes way too often

I have three simple instances of NuRackFX running in a lightly loaded AUM host. Processor load is well below 30%. Too often when I come back from a short break I’ll find that all three NuRackFX instances have red crosshatch across them and when I go to reload them, they come up empty. This happened on a 2018 iPad Pro and on a 2021 iPad pro.
Interesting idea, but not reliable enough go even a casual performance IMHO.
Add to that frustration the fact that the app support link goes nowhere and the 4pockets.com website is off line, and you get 2 stars.

Great

Great but the app keeps crashing when trying to view the coolest visualizer (the spectral analysis)

Just a suggestion

I know this suggestion would represent a significant update to the developer (who is fantastic, by the way), but it would be helpful for users if it was possible to see a graphic representation of each module as a (possibly side-scrolling) list of options which could then be dragged and dropped into the effects chain, or just tapped on to add each module to the chain.

Part of the problem with just seeing a text-based list of options is it’s difficult to visualize the final layout. Making the actual images visible (similar to stickers, perhaps) would drastically speed the review and selection process. Your competition (MixBox CS) has this identical issue. Scrolling through hundreds of descriptions is not as efficient for production as it would be seeing the real components.

The Best Value For Money Music App For iOS

There is no music app available that gives you so many high quality instruments, tools and effects for music making as NuRack does. It does look complicated at a first glance but in fact, it is incredibly easy to use. Presented in a modular, totally flexible way - the app allows you to build the exact FX you need for your track and if that kind of thing floats your boat, personalise/customise your modules. It’s a winner every iOS musician should have.

Unbelievably generous app and dev

This could be the only fx app you ever need, not only is it a fully configurable massive multi fx modular app, but new additions seem to arrive virtually every five minutes!
All of which are useful.

The dev listens to and replies to feedback, even sometimes generously adding features that only you might request, this is pretty much unparalleled in the iOS music world.

Support this dev!

Well, it’s a bit of a marvel.

It’s hard to know what to say, there’s a huge range of audio processing here that can be arranged and ‘compiled’ into a compact home-made rack. Reverse-delay warrants a mention. One quirk, which I fed back to the Dev, is that it might not want to ‘turn off’ or stay off in GB, so when I load up a song with it in, if I want it off, I have to hit the ‘power button’ icon in the ‘plug-in effects’ section on the left, then hit it off again, THEN it behaves properly. It’s an initialisation thing when a GB song file loads up.

This is not a complaint, it’s too small a thing for that. Dev will sort it I am sure, if it’s on their end. The app itself, all the hard bits, really seem way beyond what I’ll manage to use, and I watched a few of the Dev’s videos, this is the app that spawned ‘MIDIStrummer’ which I also got. They go together well I think.

Great App for FX Mangling

This thing just keeps getting better. New modules and features galore. Also, I had a feature request and the dev implemented it in short order. Highly recommend

Very impressive

First of all it’s very easy to use, so don’t be intimidated by it being modular. The editor is well designed and fun to use. You can setup a simple effect in seconds or spend some time creating a complex effect chain with your own layout, control choices with custom colours and background.
The effects all sound high quality to me and quite quickly I was able to transform a basic synth pad into an ethereal pitch shifted spacious soundscape.
I like it!
