About
Nuri is a swallow. She flies your child to six nests of everyday words and teaches them by ear — your child listens, then points — in any of seven languages, with nothing to read and nothing to lose.
Built for children aged two to six, and for the grown-up sitting next to them.
A WORLD IN SOFT 3D
Every one of the 114 words is a soft, toy-like 3D picture: animals, food, vehicles, kitchen things, body parts and colours. Each nest holds an egg that cracks a little more as words are learned, then hatches with its cap lifting off. Nuri sits in her own nest at home and flaps up now and then to say hello.
NURI FLIES ALONG
In Explore and Find, Nuri flies to each picture your child touches and lands on top of it while its word is said, so her eyes follow every choice.
LEARNS BY EAR
Every word is spoken aloud and shown as a picture. Your child hears it, finds it among other pictures, and takes it where it belongs. There is no text anywhere in the child's side of the app, so a child who cannot read yet misses nothing.
SHORT ON PURPOSE
A lesson takes a few minutes. You set a daily goal, and a daily limit if you want one — after which the nest goes to sleep until tomorrow. A lesson already started always finishes, so no child is cut off mid-question.
NOTHING TO LOSE
No scores. No lives. No timers. No streak for a child to break. A wrong answer only brings help a little sooner: the word again, then Nuri looking towards the answer, then the picture itself giving a nudge.
GROWS WITH YOUR CHILD
Two pictures to choose between for a two-year-old, four for a five-year-old — and it adjusts on evidence rather than on one lucky tap. Words that are proving hard come back sooner; words already known come back later.
SEVEN LANGUAGES
English, Turkish, Russian, French, Spanish, Kazakh and Korean. Choose the language spoken at home and the language being learned. Progress is kept separately for each, so switching never muddles what has been learned.
WHAT YOUR CHILD DOES
• Meets new words one at a time
• Explores every picture freely, with nothing to get wrong
• Finds the word Nuri names
• Pops bubbles and matches pairs
• Takes the duck to the pond and the frog to the lily pad
• Collects a sticker for every word learned, tagged with each language it was learned in
FOR THE GROWN-UPS
Behind a question only an adult can answer: minutes and lessons for today and this week, the words that are sticking and the ones that are not, each with a button to hear it. Set the languages, the age, the daily goal and limit, and a bedtime after which the app grows dimmer and calmer. Gentle music plays in the nest, with its own switch to turn it off.
Up to four children, each with their own animal and their own progress.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
There is no account, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, no chat and no links out of the app. Nothing about your child leaves the device — their name, age and everything they have learned stay in the app, which works exactly the same on a plane as at home. The only thing Nuri's Nest ever sends is a check that a Nest Plus purchase is valid, and nothing about your child goes with it.
NURI'S OWN VOICE
Every word and every phrase is spoken aloud in Nuri's own voice, a soft and warm one designed just for her, in all seven languages — including Kazakh, which most devices cannot speak at all. Short words are spoken naturally and clearly, never rushed. Nuri sounds like the same friend whichever language your child is learning.
MADE FOR EVERY SCREEN
Nuri's world fits iPhone, iPad and iPhone Duo, upright or sideways. On iPhone Duo the sticker book waits closed beside the camera, and opens when the phone does.
