Excellent
Great info at your fingertips
My perspective
The app is a bit outdated. It doesn’t read barcodes. It’s nearly impossible to add items unless you’re using products from certain European countries as it requires all nutrients listed in kcals which of course the US doesn’t use on our labels. So if you don’t mind fudging a bit. It’s not too bad. It seems to integrate well with Apple Health but I’ll have to re-evaluate after a month or two.

Not for UK residents
Waste of money. Pity it doesn’t give any indication it only covers US food just leads you on to pay for something you can’t use.
Average
The barcode scanner on this app does not work.
Good but buggy
As a vegetarian, I use the app to track protein macros. However, many common items (Ex: Trader Joe’s Almond Butter Cups) are not in the database and the app crashes if you open the barcode scanner. There is no feature on the app to request help so there’s no ability to troubleshoot. It’s good for estimating, but since the exact item is likely not listed, it can vary widely. Feels like it was published too soon with no efforts to revise.

Used to be better. Now dumbed down and basic.
I have had this app for years. I used to really like it. A couple of years ago however, they really dumbed it down. It used to have detailed nutrient information, for example, both soluble and insoluble fiber. Now, it just has very basic info for each food that you can get from any food label.
You used to be able to see a very comprehensive list of foods that were high or low in a specific nutrient. (For example, “Im trying to eat more magnesium,” or “I have a relative who can’t eat vitamin K”.) Now this will show you the top 100 foods for a given nutrient, but unfortunately, these ingredients or foods are not de-duped so you tended to get a list that has a lot of repeats, or very odd and obscure foods and you can’t scroll past the end of the 100 items.
It’s basically just like every other super simple calorie counting app out there, and I don’t think this is very differentiated or special any more.

Good app but Omega fats missing
Regarding the 'Nutrients' app for the iphone, it would be great to see Omega fats included in the nutrient breakdown.
Can you add CoQ10
Also the older version was a lot more intuitive
Not as good as it was
You can no longer add foods via the camera and adding a new food manually consistently fail to populate properly. inputting (iPhone iOS 17). It has been over a year since any effort to update has happened.
The time setting on an entry is egregiously slow. The only reason I continue to use the app is because it tracks details most diet tracking apps leave out, such as potassium - when it works.
Have gotten no response or fixes from developers.

New items make it less functional
I’ve used this app for years to help me find ingredients with particular vitamins and minerals that I run low on. With recent updates, my favorites history has been removed (🙁), but also the sorting by vitamin/mineral content has become useless to me because every result is some kind of Native American plant or meat that I absolutely have no access to. (Caribou ice cream??? In central USA???? We don’t even have caribou here, much less caribou ice cream!)
I really appreciate that these foods are in the app, but it would be wonderful if there was an option to omit certain categories from the searches and sorting. I also cannot eat fish, so it would help me there too for the nutrient categories that are 90% fish.
The sorting limits also appear to be broken, so when I select “all” it still only displays the top 100 results.
Just feeling very disappointed in this app in recent years. It used to be my go to for nutrient packed meal plans, but now I can rarely find anything relevant. I will revise this review again if positive changes are made in the future. Currently: if you can eat fish and live in Alaska or among the Plains Indians this may be great for you. If you live in a typical city? Eh.

It instantly answer my questions. I’m often asked for nutritional advice (it’s my passion) & I share your App with my family & friends.
Today I’m adding to new my IOS device (no extra charge- thxs)

Tracks everything!
Great app if you care about nutrition. It logs your calories, cholesterol, sodium, vitamins, minerals, all kinds of fats — even caffeine and alcohol. They have a big food database, although of course they don’t have every kind of food. You can enter nutrient data for foods that aren’t listed. You can enter recipes for food you prepare yourself. This app told me where I was eating hidden sugar so I got rid of it. It also told me I was calorie-deficient on some days, and which vitamins I need to supplement. I highly recommend this app.

Adding new food
Amazing!
Only one complaint: There is a Pantry option which is allow you to add new foods and their respective nutrition facts, but when you start doing that the app crashes.

Seems pretty limited
Didn’t know about most foods I tried. Weirdly, when I asked for nutritional information on cashews, I got information on dock instead.
Useless
Waste of money. Most foods and beverages I consume are not in its database. Prior to the latest app update, at least I got a pop-up telling me such and gave me the option of creating it, now it doesn’t even do that. Finding my way to where I can create a new entry, everything has to be converted to grams. Not worth even $5

Good app but
I am kinda dissatisfied with the food database. I used some Good Wheat pasta in a recipe and the database didn’t recognize it. There is no way I can see to add foods to the database. I also tried entering in my multivitamin and again not in the database. This app would be 5 stars with more foods.
Hmmmm.
With the number of bugs I was finding in this app I thought it must be new but, I’m having the same problems as people 5 yrs ago. App crashes when trying to add foods, app crashes when trying to scan label, etc. It would be a tremendous tool if it worked. The app functions partially but if you want to be detailed and accurate, it needs to be fixed.

Great no nonsense app
This app is exactly what I was looking for. Tracks your nutritional intake including vitamins, Animo acids etc with an easy to see chart that shows how far you are close to 100% of your needs in each category. Over time you can adjust your diet to increase or lower the score. At £5 flat fee this is much cheaper than any subscription based app and for me it’s all I need.

I’ve had this app for Years!
And I wouldn’t be without it!
Even my Dr is getting the idea that I’m on to something with my “wild” ideas about nutrition!
Mid 60’s and Still keep up with the average half my age!
For the last several years …..
I have Relied on this very app for Tons of information
And you keep up with New Stuff/Products!
It doesn’t get better than this!
I can’t Thank You enough !

Not what I thought…
I found this app somewhat confusing to figure out. I wanted something to track nutrition and not calories or fitness. This seemed like it might work but now I see it doesn’t have the trace elements/minerals for bone health that I was looking for. Then I tried to add a recipe and that’s a joke. It’s not a recipe at all but only a list of foods. You can’t customize the ingredients you enter. it’s a whole pound or grams. Then the second item I tried only had grams, no cups or pounds or ounces. If you enter the wrong amount you can’t edit it you must delete and go find it again. Useless feature. I don’t see much value in it for tracking food for a day or week etc. It might work ok for only one item lookup but if that’s all you are doing there are apps that can do that for no cost. Save your money. I think it’s bad that they don’t let you see it for a day or before you buy. Lesson learned you just might get junk.
