About
Nuxfon is a plain SIP telephone. It registers at a phone system you already have — your own PBX, your provider, a FRITZ!Box — and places and takes calls through it. There is no service of ours in between and no account with us.
What it does
• Registers over UDP, TCP, TLS or WebSocket, and finds the right one by itself
• Calls in G.711, and in G.722 for wideband sound where a line asks for it
• Hold, blind and attended transfer, DTMF, mute, speakerphone
• Several lines at once, each at its own phone system
• Messages to colleagues and to any number your phone system can reach
• Busy lamps for colleagues, so you can see who is on a call and pick up their extension
• Call history, contacts and the address book on the device
Ringing while the app is closed
A telephone that only rings while it is open is not a telephone. Nuxfon can be woken by your phone system and shows the call on the lock screen like any other call. That needs a small wake service on the phone system; without it, Nuxfon rings whenever it is running.
Your credentials stay on the device. What you type into the setup goes to your phone system and nowhere else.
An optional workspace can supply lines, contacts and chats for a company that runs one. That is an addition, not a requirement, and Nuxfon works fully without it.
