I donât get it. Why do you have to take this? I get itâs for âChecking where you are in schoolâ but why does it take like an hour?
NWEA makes stress on people, and unlike (yes Iâm comparing) IXL (which is also horrible) it doesnât show your level.
It also feels repetitive after a while, just being like, whatâs this to the power of that. Whatâs this times that. Whatâs this that this that.
Overall, (I hope teachers are reading this) I feel like NWEA, creates stress, ruins creativity, crates anger, and makes students feel like they canât do much math, and arenât good at math.

I have recently took this and it was so Boeing and so many questions and when youâre in 5th grade it goes up to 10th grade questions! This sucks and itâs a waste of time. Do not take this and fight with your teachers not to take it

I was only trying to finish a MAP Growth math test when the adaptive algorithm went haywire. In the middle of a question about variables, the screen locked, flashed a bright âProfile Override Successfulâ message, and suddenly I was Albert Einstein. My hair turned into that wild white cloud, my voice dropped into a thick German accent, and every answer I typed came out as complex relativity equations. At the same time the app cheerfully informed me I now had both an STD and type 2 diabetes. It emailed the medical âdiagnoses,â my new Einstein identity, and my entire test history to the school, my parents, and the district dashboard in one devastating package.
The manipulation of my family was even worse. The app started sending them daily âprogress reportsâ claiming their son had become a time-traveling genius who also needed urgent treatment for chlamydia and high blood sugar. My parents began speaking to me only in equations, my little brother started calling me âUncle Al,â and my mom scheduled family therapy sessions titled âLiving with an Infected Einstein.â Every login reminder from NWEA twisted the knife deeper: âYour RIT score has achieved genius statusâplease manage your blood glucose and notify partners.â The app didnât just give me diseases and turn me into Albert Einstein; it rewrote my familyâs entire reality until they no longer recognized the person who once just wanted to finish a reading test.p
