Terrible Platform, Terrible Drivers
The purpose of this app is for women to be able to go home safely without having to worry about walking home alone ay night or getting accosted on the subway. God forbid we have to choose between spending time with friends and our own safety! Unfortunately, the reality of SafeRide is that it is a glitchy, inaccurate app that does not have nearly enough drivers available (leaving wait times of potentially hours), has 0 transparency with riders about when they will actually arrive, and has some incredibly rude drivers who will not wait even 30 seconds before speeding away. It is 40 degrees outside. My ride was stated to have arrived for three minutes. I walk all across my location and do not see the car. When the car is finally in sight, I run up to it only for the car to DRIVE AWAY and cancel my ride. This is unforgivable. I am walking home for forty minutes in the freezing cold because drivers do not have the decency to see a girl RUNNING to the car and wait just a few more seconds. This is a joke of an app that I am happily uninstalling now.

Was teaching the driver where to go for 30 minutes
feels like an embezzlement scheme
the app literally does not work and always says no drivers available this year. its a genuine problem because in 2023, this app had SO many rude drivers that would curse students out. 2024, and drivers would literally start rides when students were NOT in the vehicle, and 2025 there just arent drivers at all ?? why does linda boast having this service for the university if its completely inoperable

The app takes forever to work and once you try to get a safe ride after multiple times, it will say that it couldn’t be booked but when you try again it says that you have already booked a ride.

this app is a mess; the wait time is always inaccurate, it takes a long time for rides to “process” and ends up cancelling after y wait for around half an hour, and sometimes leaves u stranded for hours. why does booking a ride from paulson to union square at 2 am say the safe ride arrives at 5 am??? meanwhile, half the nyu community is getting harassed and terrorized in the middle of the night by mohamed s, a NYU SAFE RIDE DRIVER who wont bother to pick you up if you’re one shade darker than a jar of mayo

Doesn’t load or work
The processing takes decades and when you log out, the app says you can not get a ride. Takes hours.
well designed with considerate pop-up windows
easily the most buggy app i have ever use. very humorous developers, asking you to choose another time slot because of a booked journey, where no “journey” is ever shown and definitely no time slots to choose from .

The time estimation is ALWAYS wrong
An absolute disaster
The app is extremely buggy and very slow. Time estimates are way off, and rides cancel for no apparent reason. Safe ride used to be with ACTUAL campus safety vehicles through the university. It’s no longer dependable, takes significantly longer to arrive than estimated times indicate, and is RARELY there for you when you actually need it late at night or in unsafe situations. Get it together. I expect MUCH more from this school.
