A classic, but could use an update

So, first off, awesome! I got back from watching The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act in theaters today, and I randomly felt the desire to play the show’s theme on the ocarina. Now, it took a while to get it right, and even then, I had to redo it due to a crash. I had to screen record it to save it. Uploading the songs and getting them emailed to you are both broken features that force a crash. So, if you may, could you consider updating the app, even if just to add a compatibility layer?

Might also be cool to have more finger dots for the ocarina. Perhaps, if it isn’t too complicated (since there’s a limit of 5 fingers on Apple devices), if there are more holed options, there could be buttons dedicated to holding multiple holes? Idk, that might be too convoluted… but regardless, even if you don’t change the interface, it would be cool to have it working again!

FAQ

What is Ocarina?

Ocarina is a mobile application that transforms your device into a virtual ocarina, an ancient flute. It allows users to create music using intuitive breath, touch, and movement controls, making it accessible even without musical training.

How do I play the virtual ocarina?

You can play by blowing air into your device's microphone to produce sound. Specific note combinations are played by touching different areas of the screen, and tilting the device can alter vibrato effects. Advanced users can also adjust keys and modes.

Is Ocarina free to use?

The app is free to download and use, offering core functionality. While the description mentions in-app purchases and ads, it does not specify what these entail. Users can access a free songbook online.

Can I play along with popular songs?

Yes, a large collection of free, easy-to-read scores for popular songs is available on the Ocarina website. You can find arrangements for songs like 'Theme from Zelda,' 'Amazing Grace,' and 'Theme from Harry Potter' to play along with.

Can I share my music with others?

Absolutely. You can record your performances, name your virtual ocarina, and share your favorite recordings with friends and family via email. You can also listen to and rate performances from other Ocarina players around the world.
