About

Ocean Alliance brings Hawai'i's marine conservation effort to your pocket. Whether you're snorkeling at a local reef or diving with a research team, you can contribute real field data that shapes how we protect the ocean. EXPLORE Open the map to see turtle sighting locations and ecological monitoring sites across Hawai'i's coastline. Tap any site to browse the latest sightings and survey data submitted by volunteers and researchers in the field. TURTLE SIGHTINGS Spotted a sea turtle? Submit a sighting in seconds — add a photo, GPS coordinates, and observation notes. Your record goes into a growing catalog of identified individuals, helping researchers track population health and movement patterns over time. REEF MONITORING Run standardized ecological surveys directly from the water's edge. Indicator species protocols cover invertebrates, chordates, and coral health. Species inventory surveys let you record any observed species at a site. All data syncs to the Ocean Alliance database for long-term trend analysis. GET INVOLVED Browse upcoming field events, explore the learning hub to build your reef knowledge, and find field training resources to improve your data quality. Discover immersive conservation programs and request workshops for your group. FOR FIELD TEAMS Authorized researchers and dive staff can log dives, access reports, and manage the sighting review queue — all protected behind secure sign-in. Ocean Alliance Project is a nonprofit marine conservation organization based in Hawai'i dedicated to reef monitoring, sea turtle research, and community science.
