Can’t save when you need to
Fun mindless dungeon crawler
Really Fun!!!!
Inadequate lack of progression
The enemies are monotonous, the bosses and mini bosses are painfully easy to beat (too few attack patterns), and the progression path was slow. It didn’t seem to matter the skills that each character had, the whole game played pretty much the same. I was hoping this would be like moonlighter or other dungeon rogue RPGs in a similar style, but it wasn’t.
legend of zelda wannabe.
see, there is taking certain aspects of a game to make your ORIGINAL idea better, and completely ripping it off. oceanhorn as a whole is a sad excuse of a zelda game, starring a blonde, blue-eyed male protagonist wielding a sword to save the kingdom from an all-powerful force with heart containers, stamina, dungeons, and items. except they managed to take aspects from an icon game, the legend of zelda: phantom hourglass, and screw it up. i hope to take this to court someday, and believe me i’ll crush your sorry company who can’t come up with a good idea. if you want a quality gaming experience, play the legend of zelda games, particularly if you like this plot, which was ripped from the legend of zelda: phantom hourglass.
I love it!
I did not download this game
Awesome
Avoid Using Archer
This review is about the archer alone though, being that is the only character I played, or should I say, needed to play.
Here is the thing with the archer. A single arrow can have a chance to instant kill, freeze, stop an enemy from attacking, and will always knock back. This being so, no melee character will ever touch you. I stopped playing the game on the last chapter due to being bored, and up the that point, I never died or got close to died while also playing on hard difficulty. I can’t imagine how easy the game would be on a easier difficulty.
Another thing about the archer is you can level and earn the skill to not take damage from floor spikes or fire. I cool touch, but it makes the level design obsolete. I can completely careless/carefree while running around. I simple fix would be to give the archer only one of these instead of both, but with both, you can stand where ever you want on the map, and shoot however far you want, and it just becomes boring not having to worry about anything.
I wanted to leave the review with some positive feedback for the team because I’d love to see the game improve. If anything, removing the knock back and canceling enemies attacks from the arrow could completely fix the archer. It would make the character more skill based, being all about timing from a distance which is normally how ranged characters are in games.
Couple more quick notes…
Bosses need to be more. Bosses need to be something that are a challenge. Something to fear. Something to kill you and set you back to the start. The bosses in the game were so simple and have only 1 or 2 attack mechanics. I honestly don’t think a boss ever hurt me.
Second, seeing the achievement pop up only in chapter 2 of the game that I’ve seen every enemy in the game is pretty disappointing. It gave me the feeling that I’m just getting started yet I’ve already seen everything? The player needs something to looks forward to, and as you progress through the gane, new/stronger enemies to kill us and make us feel weak is just common sense.
Feels unfinished
Berserker
I great game
Needs work
(Developers please read) Need more bosses
To Easy
A basic game that needs to be fleshed out
The character progression is limited, the upgraded items are ok. The story just doesn’t pull you in, and there is no story for your characters.
Slightly too easy
Amazing game
Fun gameplay, disappointing lack of story
Additionally, I feel like having all four characters be humans was a missed opportunity. Why no Owrou or Gillfolk characters? The Oceanhorn verse has other sentient species that are humanoid and can wield weapons and magic.
