I couldn’t figure out how to start the game. There was an import option and thats all. Did I not download the actual game or what?
This is NOT octopath traveler - It’s been acquired.
As soon as I opened the game and pressed “start” I was met with a disclaimer that the game has been transferred to another company and then offered a redirect to a website with another thing to download. Not clear, not what I asked for when I hit “download” in the App Store. Felt deceptive, even if it’s just BAU for an acquisition. moving on.

An Experience Hard to Forget
I’ve played both Octopath 1 and 2 (Completed) and CotC for maybe a year and a half. With that, I can say that this is one of the best mobile games if you’re looking for a strategy-based rpg. Even with the somewhat annoying gacha system, it’s not too difficult to get five stars due to the generosity during events. Additionally, if you’re a f2p, so am I and I have completed the entire story, start to finish, just persevere.

CLASSY
A solid all-around jrpg gacha for single player gamers. Perfect alternative to Another Eden which is unplayable due to joke load times. COTC also happens to be gorgeous to look at and fun to boot. What a concept. Worried about that transfer to netease next month but we’ll see. Maybe the honeymoon phase that comes with all ftp games will have passed by then anyways.

Decent game with greedy gacha mechanism
The main story makes me cry. Boss fight makes my team cry(Excellent Boss design bring me so much joy). So little daily login reward makes me cry. Gacha makes my wallet cry.

The devs have stopped releasing new content, and have gone radio silent. Don’t bother spending a dime, because this formerly great game is done. Just a matter of time before they take it down.

Can’t Skip Cut Scenes
I picked this up after beating the first Octopath game. While playing that, I could hold a button to skip any scene if I was bored or impatient. It is absurd to me that I can't do that in this game, and I'm instead forced to basically just put my phone down and come back later. I prefer the combat to the seemingly endless talking, I fear I'll burn out before I get to really experience the game.

Square Enix once again fails to do the bare minimum
It is impossible to register with bridge. I tried 3 different accounts and it said that there was a device already with that account. Why does this matter is there no possible way to play with the same account? This is mind blowing . I wanted to try this game but man I am not going to try it since I tried like an hour to make this work.

Surprisingly well balanced and honest
I’m usually not a fan of gacha games for a number of reasons, but octopath cotc is a free to play game that may as well be a free console game as everything can be beaten fairly without spending a dime. The graphics are beautiful as all hd-2d and the story is engaging, leading me to spending just to support the team.
For those worried, this game doesn’t lock anything important behind limited time events and has hours worth of play. While not a game to play casually, it is sure to help pass those long hours when you have nothing to do and only have your phone in hand.

Needs Mucho Improvement
This game is way too easy, and there is never anything to do. As the greatest gamer and reviewer in the world, I give this game a very low score of one star. Please make game harder, with more stuff to do if you want a better rating.

The development team is holding us hostage with the threat of Ending Service. EOS means the game will be removed from the App Store and players will lose all access to free and paid content.

I don’t understand why square deleted the sign in ability through Facebook my characters and progress was deleted:(
