It was AMAZING until…
I loved this App! Great for making music and also fun. However, I made a couple pieces of music before downloading some new sounds. When I tried to use these new sounds it wouldn’t let me save and kept loading, at one point I let in load for 5 hours with no end in sight. The next time I opened the app all of the different sounds you can use were gone and it wouldn’t let me listen to any backing tracks. I have now deleted the app and are trying to re- download it but I am quite disappointed.

Not worth money
Not worth the money for what the ball does bad useabilty of that app too
Cannot turn off background refresh
The Oddball is a fantastic concept, but I am having to delete the app from my phone because it is a huge background battery hog. It drained my battery by more than 50% running overnight and background refresh cannot be turned off. This is unacceptable

Not really happy with the device or the app, however, I can’t give it that low of a star due to the fact that the app was updated and hopefully restore purchases will be on it. Also, they are working with me on seeing if my current oddball has issues. So, I haven’t been really happy thus far – however the support has been amazing and hopefully in the next few weeks, I will have no issues and can leave a five star review. I do give five stars to the company because they do get back with you and also go into in-depth troubleshooting with you.

Glitchy, bad app.
Horrible app. Super glitchy. When it does work which is about 1% of the time it’s fun though. Would NOT recommend. Not worth the frustration.

Trash
Product all of a sudden stopped charging and won’t turn on, with no fault of my own. Customer service was terrible and unhelpful. Instead of a solution, they just offered me a coupon to buy another one. Why would I want to do that when the product is unreliable and glitchy? Beats me.
UPDATE: You’ve replied to reach out to the company so you can solve the issue, but we’ve already had a back and forth for weeks to which you provided no solution

Not so happy with either product or app. What really irks me is that I spent money on “credits”. Only to find out that you can’t use these credits on a different iOS device. So, I spent some of my “credits” on my iPhone, and when I put the app on my iPad, I had to basically re-purchase all of the sounds I already paid for. Nobody responded and my review just happens to be gone with the wind. Another issue is that I got the device. Charged it overnight. Used it for about 20 minutes on the iPhone. Then the next day I had to recharge it again before I used it on my iPad. Then every time since I’ve tried to use this stupid ball, I have to charge it. Figure out the app in a timely manner so people that have spent $130 on your ball will not have to spend an extra $30 for some extra sounds. I am not happy with the oddball and I’m really am not happy with this app. I own six iPhones, six iPads, four laptops, four desktops, and I have a full studio of hardware I’ve been beta testing iOS apps since 2012 so I understand the iOS ecosystem and I certainly understand, midi, controllers, and gear. This was just basically $130 purchase that I can replace for a new one that works or will just be thrown in the trash.

Tons of Fun
The ODD Ball is a ton of fun! Although I bought this for my toddler son, I thoroughly enjoy this. My son loves to throw the ball. It’s a great creative way to get me moving. The Sound Lab could be more intuitive, but there are a lot of built-in songs in the library.
Really liked the idea and the device
Creating the music by tapping it is an absolute blast (sensitively issue other mentioned solved by hypersense setting by now) and really sparked my curiosity at the beginning.
There’s few downsides however:
1. As for now the library of the sound effects is very limited
2. The loop editor is very basic and lucking more precise control, I would love to see following features:
- turning on/off channels
- changing length of the loop per channel (e.g 10 second loop for the drum, but 20 seconds loop for the guitar)
- some advanced timeline editor (something similar to final cut)
Hopefully the devs won’t give up on the project and will bring us more exciting updates!

Not bad - but app needs new features
The App is very basic. Would like to see a better way of recording and setting loops. For example, being able to toggle on/off channels etc. Also my ball also seems to randomly turn off mid session and then doesn’t turn back on with a slap or bounce. I have to plug it in each time. Quite disappointed with the whole experience really

The new update deleted my saved tracks
Do NOT update to the latest version - it deleted my entire collection of saved tracks without warning…

New app and firmware don’t work
Bought this a few weeks ago. It was ok, the app is very basic. Great news though, they updated the app and the firmware for the ball, to include new gestures and ways of creating beats… the app and the ball don’t connect now…. Really quite poor.
Great concept lousy execution
Very excited to receive the Odd Ball. However it won’t charge and there has been no response from customer service despite repeated attempts to contact the company. Very disappointed!
Where do you go from here…?
I was a backer on Kickstarter. Saw the potential for something really versatile that could be developed into a really amazing tactile interface. But since the launch, not much has changed. The app and website are still very basic. It’s like they’ve hit a wall, and the ball has stopped bouncing off it. At the very least, I would love to see more comprehensive MIDI support documents, as the information on their website is not as straightforward as ‘connect via Bluetooth’. You need a third party app to start with. And as far as the app is concerned, it’s a looper with circular potential. Maybe with more than 1 ball it gets interesting…!

Amazing!
My son is disabled and he absolutely loves this. It’s something we can all play with involving him. My youngest will change the sounds and we can them bounce it and watch my eldest son shriek in delight!
Fair
Have had problems with syncing but overall okay, chipmondello supports this.
Super cool
ODD ball is super cool, but I’m not a natural. I have a lot to learn and need a ton of practice to make it rock.
Odd Ball is innovative!
Our musical improv groups uses ODD balls to underscore our scenes, add sound effects, and provide instrumental music while the players improvise their own lyrics. We have created musical juggling and rhythm games as improv warm ups. ODD balls allow non-musicians to play along at a level with professional musicians. ODD balls combine physical activity and rhythms to bring performances alive on stage. Please create a version that lights up.

These are awesome
I own two of these and they are fantastic. I love the loop function. While I’m playing music my nephews and nieces play with the odd balls and add to the beat creating a very fun environment. They love recording their voices and bouncing the ball.
