About
Watching someone defend a perfectly reasonable answer to a question they were never asked is the entire game.
Everyone in the room gets the same question except one player, and nobody is told which of you it is. You all answer on your own phones, the answers go up side by side, one of them lands a little strange, and the argument starts. The odd one out has been answering honestly the whole time, and finds out right there, in front of everyone.
ONE ROUND
Answer, then watch every answer appear at once. Argue about whose answer smells wrong, then vote. Everyone who votes for the odd one out scores. If they survive the vote, they score more than any of you did.
BRING YOUR OWN QUESTIONS
Play on questions about your own group instead of ours. Everyone writes a few before the first round, and the game quietly writes each one a near-miss twin for the odd one out to get instead. You can never be the odd one out on a question you wrote, so nobody gets to set anyone up.
THREE DECKS
Safe is clean enough for the office. Party is where most nights happen. Unhinged is for a group with nothing left to hide, and the host has to switch it on.
BLIND MODE
The question most of you got stays hidden until the round ends, so the answers are all you have to go on. Much harder, and an imposter who gets caught still gets one guess at what the rest of you were asked, for a consolation prize.
PLAYING FROM DIFFERENT PLACES
When the group is not in one room, the host turns on the built-in video call. Voice or video sits on the same screen as the game, so the whole night still happens in one place. Already on a video call together? Leave it off and use this as the second screen.
ALSO IN THERE
• A solo practice round on first launch, so nobody has to read rules out loud
• Anonymous skip votes, so a majority can bin a question nobody likes
• Drop off the wifi and come back to your seat and your score
• Room links open straight into the app for anyone who has it
• Start a room from Siri or the Shortcuts app, and play in dark mode
• Your finished games are kept on your phone, and so are the questions you wrote, ready for next time
• The host sets the deck, the reveal mode, the number of rounds, the timer and whether the call is on
• No account, and no ads
Start a room, send your group the code, and find out who has been lying to you. It might be you.
