No longer works
They sent an email saying it was updated and better than ever, but it just gives me error messages now. Common trouble shooting methods were a waste of time.

For at least a week now a red bar on the bottom of the screen keeps popping up every 10 seconds that reads “The data can’t be read because it’s missing”. The video and audio play fine and everything else seems fine but you get this annoying bar that pops up.

In the current time where everyone is tired of the current social media apps allowing an opportunity for a new social platform to rise - this app drops the ball completely.

Great platform BUT
The platform itself is amazing. I’ve cut Google out of my life over the last few years so this has been a god send, but the IOS version is rough.
Constant login errors, having to reload the app just to stay signed in.
App starting but failing to load anything (including following and home pages)
And freezing when using full screen mode.
I’m using an iPhone 17 pro max so I can’t see it being my phone that is the issue.

It’s just a garage app
Connection is horrible
Constant buffering like dial up problems for no apparent reason
Censorship
A well needed competitor to YouTube and overall great app thoroughly hampered by Apple by forcing the app to censor and not allow certain search queries. Use the website instead, the app itself even recommends that.
Getting better.
The app continues toto improve, including the feature to import a channel from YouTube. It’s good to have a competitor for videos.

On the latest ios 26 on iphone se3 no three lines appear at the top of the home screen, from which to access Watch History. Jan 2026.
Almost useless for livestream viewing
Pros: You can watch videos and livestreams on it, and the pop-out player works well. Push notifications alert you to new content from your favorite channels.
Cons: When viewing livestream chat, it doesn’t show the full username for the person leaving the comment most of the time. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it shows a partial name. Sometimes it doesn’t show the name at all. It also doesn’t show anyone’s profile picture in livestream chats or pictures posted in livestream chats. Animated gifs used for profile pictures and video thumbnails do not play. The great animations that play on the website when you fire or slime a video don’t play (replaced by a boring static color change). Lastly, none of Odysee’s custom emojis are viewable or visible on the app.
In short, it needs a complete redesign. It’s been lacking since it was launched years ago. Please do something to improve it 🙏

I have no love in my heart for the blockchain or the tech bros who endorse it, and even I agree that Odysee could be a good alternative to YouTube if
1. more people used it, and
2. the mobile app actually worked.
As it stands, the mobile app lacks much of the functionality available on the website.
If you want to use Odysee, do what the title of this review says.

Promising
You guys have improved since I saw your site two years ago. Keep it up! Legit can be a great platform if you improve on your algorithm and video compression. I’ve been keeping my eye on you guys and seen how you changed recently. It may be a great site to go to for
2026. More platforms that offer freedom and not so much hardcore restrictions is needed.

Stick to browser
There’s no playlist at all in the app. You’re better off just sticking to the browser.
Hmmm, good start.
Not sure blockchain fast enough for video. For me playback always stop/start, going back or forward is choppy too. Spend too much time waiting. Too many steps to close a video. Always goes to small mode at bottom of screen and can close from there. Should be able to just close the video in a single step. Can’t access lists or add to lists from this app, desktop only. Brutal. There is a bunch of other stuff that is clunky about it too. Needs a lot of work in my opinion

Ce support vidéo permet de faire gratuitement ce que YouTube ne fait pas! Très pratique de voir en PiP des vidéos et faisant une autre tâche sur son iPhone.
Ce qui est dommage c'est que les liste de lecture sur les profils utilisateurs Odysee ne sont pas visibles sur l'application.
Bref une application qui a du potentiel! Je mettrai 5 étoiles si les liste de lecture sont visibles sur iPhone.
