Accidental dental
I hate having to go through OEBAC reps that are just middlemen for the insurance. Completely frustrating and waste of time. Meanwhile I’m out thousands of dollars while I wait for coverage on my kids teeth. Don’t deserve one star.

They do not care about the members at all! They deny everything and they do not even explain why or what you need! Not great for members who struggle with a family death or mental health issues! They are a huge added stress to my family and even for my partner as I do not want to deal with them anymore ! Other members I’ve talked to now pay out of pocket and do not submit receipts because they do not want to deal with the benefits company ! They don’t answer the phone anyways ! Shame members are struggling and they pay twice for something, through their working benefits and then pay through their hard working cash! Because of a companies greed! We miss global!

Absolutely the worst company to deal with
They deny claims for dental, paid for doctor notes and doctor prescribed wrist braces. It doesnt matter how much information you provide, they will just claim they dont cover it.

Layout is nice , I’ve noticed claims are taking much longer to process as opposed to last year. Also how is there no Face ID sign in?? It’s almost 2025…

Submitting receipts
Hello I just joined obec bennifits aug1 submitted 6 claims all got rejected have had to call 4 times.my wife bought eye glasses she has other bennifits but was out of eye glasses the eye doctor tried to bill direct but she had no coverage so I submitted hers to mine and it got denied and you guys want proof.i got orthodoxs in July had to put a deposit on them for 250 and pay rest in Aug when they gave me the paper work after I paid the other 250 so it should not count till Aug.so now I’m out of pocket great bennifits not

Benefit book
Cant get active member benefit book to come up, only shows retiree book
Changing last names or information in general is extremely difficult to do with OBEC
Been trying for over a month to change my spouses name with no luck. No information about additional information needed can be found on their app or website.
Brutal
The app doesn’t keep an accurate record of my claims! The benefits in general have been a joke for me so far! Been on these union benefits for almost two years and I have only been able to claim one dental checkup and cleaning! I’m am out of pocket so far for two chiropractors appointments and one massage, all declined and it’s not stated as such on the app anymore, though it was initially. I also owe money for my last dental visit 🤷♂️! As for the supposed pension contributions and my statements who knows, the app is just blank, I’ve called twice to inquire and they don’t even know who I am!

Overall very good benefit plan and helpful staff when I call regarding any issues with claims etc. should consider the idea of family spending as for instance some people may never use speech therapy benefits where as another family member with special needs may need extensive therapy in that area but it’s capped per year. I did politely bring this up with a staff member and he said he’d pass the info along. For drug and dental I do find it great but as a special needs parent I don’t like that about the supplementary healthcare benefits. I have 2 children who will likely not need them but one who needs extensive therapy and benefits barely help with the cost.

Constant problems.
If you upload picture of benefits. Takes over a week to get money back. If you submit the claim with details it’s less wait but then you get audited every other month. Now it won’t even let me submit the details for whatever reason. Always a problem.
Takes forever to get money
App is ok to use but this company takes forever to get money back!!! We got pre approved for monthly instalments for braces but every month we submit our receipts it takes at least 15 days to get our money back!! They know it’s coming they approved it yet we STILL have to wait !! So frustrating !!

Most streamlined app I’ve ever used.
Since the incorporation of OEBAC and our union i am very thankful for the way this has made our lives so much easier. I hope since starting our own benefit administration it has not only been profitable but also worth all the time and energy and hundreds of hours of hard work and dedication to keep this running.
