Horrible app
Nothing loads or works
Doesn’t even work
Won’t let me add my card so I can use the bike….
Not worth it
Wife and I wanted to go for a Sunday afternoon bike ride so we downloaded the app. But, could only sign up for monthly memberships. The $6 day pass was not available. Seemed it required human intervention and they were closed. Stupid. We tried to delete the account but that was not an option off hours either - all we could do was deactivate. Stupid. This is so poor it seems like a scam.

I really tried but didn’t work
We really wanted to use the bike share system and went to three different locations. At all of them, the bikes were “not connected” or the kiosk was non functional. Great idea IF IT WORKED
Didn’t even work
Tried multiple times but could not complete the app process of signing up for a membership. The app kept freezing and shutting down during the signup process, or if I was lucky enough to get through to checkout it would erroneously state my multiple cards were invalid.
utterly broken.
broken, slow, useless. says both my credit cards are “inactive” so after 30 minutes of re-typing to make sure my address is right (can’t copy paste!) went and bought a Lyft scooter to get home. my cards work. >:(
Fire Your Developers
Can’t even sign up. Crashes when putting in my city in billing info. Whatever you’re paying your devs, it’s too much.
Non functional for basic things
Payment processing does not work at all. Entering a known-good credit card results in an error "this card appears to be invalid" Trying a different card, same error. Doesn't allow autofill or Apple Pay.... "Bike status" shows a different number of bikes than the details page. This app is not usable
Card verification
Can’t use the app now because I tried to update my profile with my new card and it keeps saying the card is invalid. It’s definitely not.
Dysfunctional user experience
This app is pretty much broken and needs to be fixed. Most things take a while once you click on them.
Besides the app barely working, once you get it to work, the actual bikes don’t have an electric accelerate function — causing you have to strike the pedals in a very specific way to get it to work. The weight of the bike makes it a pain to ride it without electric aid.

Great way to see Richmond
After reading the negative reviews, I was apprehensive about trying this bike share. But it worked out great! My family of four was able to go everywhere and had a blast. (St. Johns, Tredegar, Hollywood cemetery, the university, and more.) Docking a bike and not worrying about more complicated, expensive rentals was great.
The price was great too. $24 for unlimited, fun travel for a family of four? (Note that the “day pass” still needs to dock every 45 minutes. It’s not a bike rental, but more of a transit pass.)
It was not a perfect experience. Our first time was a mess — flat tires, disengaged chains, drive trains that wouldn’t engage. The baskets had trash in them, and some of the bikes were tagged.
But by the second time, we learned to keep an eye out for these, and it was no problem. Which is fine — it’s a city bike share, not a some resort rental.
As a tourist, I would absolutely recommend this. Ebikes are the ideal way to enjoy a beautiful city.

Awful App, Abhorrent Service, and Anti-Consumer
If I could rate this app zero stars, I would not hesitate to do so. This app is virtually the equivalent of throwing a wad of cash down a storm drain. After trudging through a confusing user interface that didn’t even recognize my card initially, I finally figured out how to pay for a ride. I had to use the code on the bike itself since the qr option wasn’t working. After riding for about a minute and a half, I immediately turned around and brought it back, as the bike itself felt cheap and rickety, like a mechanical bull in a bar. Upon docking it, I quickly noticed that there was no way to end the ride, and the app didn’t disclose to me any indication that I was using the bike. The bike itself kept counting and I assumed it was some sort of renewal system if I wanted to continue riding after 45 minutes. After my “ride” ended, I continuously kept checking my payment history tab yet there was no sign of me paying anything. It wasn’t until 2 days later that my bank account showed not one but TWO pending payments on my account. I was charged 25 dollars for a bike I rode for 90 seconds AND RETURNED to the dock, and then I was charged 47 dollars the following day because someone apparently rode the bike to a warehouse. After checking the app again both payments were there and my completely blank account now shows that I have rode for 96 hours and burned 2700 calories in the course of a day. This all ensued due to the fact that there is no option to END THE RIDE. A 90 second ride of mediocrity has now resulted in me having to call the app and my bank to fix a sudden loss of nearly 70 dollars. Uncomfortable bikes, horrible user interface, and a broken excuse of an app that should be taken down.

they will steal your money
Bought a ‘day pass’ for 6 dollars. As soon as I docked the bike they charged me an extra 15!! Apparently I was supposed to dock my bike at a station every 45 minutes… first of all why would I buy a day pass if I have to dock the bike every hour? Theres literally no point and this is a scam. I don't like that they can just charge me extra money for no reason.

An absolute horrible experience
From a $6 day pass that I purchased only to find that it had to dock the bike after 45 minutes or I would be charged $3 every half hour after the first 45 minutes. There was no dock where we were going, so we got charged an additional $18 for the round trip. Then we used the secondary lock at our destination which did not unlock when we were ready to leave. After roughly 30 minutes on the phone with a help desk person that we couldn’t understand, we were connected to his manager who spoke more clearly and was finally able to unlock the bike. Finally, when the bike was returned to the dock, the app did not “end” the ride. I had to call in yet again to confirm the ride had ended and to receive my very disappointing bill. Safe to say, I will never use this app or RVA Bike Share again. With other less expensive and more user friendly apps for scooters or ride share, I would urge everyone to consider an alternative to these rip-off artists.

Works great- sometimes!
I’m so happy Richmond has a bike-share program! It’s a super affordable and fun option for getting around. The main problem is that about 20-25% of time time the e-bikes are either not charged or not working, and then if there are no other working bikes around, you’re left to ride an extremely heavy bike without gears.
Overall, I’m happy with RVA bikes and use it often.

Absolutely scums
Bike super fun, except some of the bikes had a flat tire or the power function didn’t work. But worst of all I bought a 24 hr pass for $6. They said we had to park the bike every 45 mins and it doesn’t matter if u locked ur bike.
They charged an extra $15!. Absolutely no purpose of having a day pass.

Unable to sign up
Credit card process says my address is incorrect for all credit cards I try. Just like other people have said, it’s broken.
FAKE CHARGE
They charged me $12 randomly after month I had bought $6 for the day!, I had deleted the app and they still charged me?, not even a good ap, very confusing
Can’t register
I can’t even get started. The app keeps rejecting my credit card with an invalid address message, and there is no support or contact info.
Terrible app and website
The bikes are actually a lot of fun but the app and website make them nearly impossible to use! Would love to ride more but just not worth the frustration of using the app! Hopefully they fix their issues soon so we can ride again
