About
Oh Hell Scoring — The scorekeeper for the classic trick-bidding card game.
Oh Hell Score turns your iPhone or iPad into a scorekeeper for Oh Hell (also known as Oh Pshaw, Nomination Whist, or Blackout) — the trick-taking card game where guessing right is everything.
Enter your players once, then let the app walk you through each round: everyone bids how many tricks they'll take, plays the hand, and reports how many they actually won. The app tallies scores automatically, keeps a running scoreboard, and crowns a winner at the end — no pencil, no paper, no arguing over the math.
Choose Peak (cards dealt 1 up to 8, then back down to 1) or Valley (8 down to 1, then back up to 8), and optionally turn on the classic "someone must bust" dealer rule. Made a bidding mistake? Jump back and fix it before moving on. Close the app mid-game and pick up right where you left off.
How to Play
Players: 2–7, named at the start of the game.
The deal: 15 rounds total, cards dealt per round following the chosen variant (Peak 1→8→1, or Valley 8→1→8).
Bidding: Each player bids how many tricks they expect to win, 0 up to the cards dealt.
Play the hand: Standard Oh Hell rules — trump, follow suit, highest trump/card wins. The app just tracks bids and scores, not the cards themselves.
Scoring: Tricks won == bid → score 10 + bid. Otherwise → bust, score 0.
Optional rule: "Require a bust" forces the dealer to avoid a bid that would let all bids sum exactly to the cards dealt.
Winning: Highest total after 15 rounds wins; ties shown as co-winners.
