About

Oikosly turns any Australian address into a clear picture of the neighbourhood around it. Search a street address and get real population, housing, crime, and development data — all mapped, all sourced from official government data. WHAT'S IN THE AREA See who lives there and how the area is changing, straight from the ABS Census: population, households, density, housing costs, age breakdown, income, and the SEIFA socio-economic ranking. Suburb name and boundary come from the same PSMA/ABS Digital Atlas of Australia data used across government mapping. CRIME & SAFETY Real recorded-crime figures from state and territory police, shown for the local area where it's published: NSW BOCSAR, Victoria Crime Statistics Agency, Queensland Police, ACT Policing, SA Police, WA Police, NT Police, and Tasmania Police. Coverage and detail vary by state, since each force publishes its data differently — Oikosly never estimates or fills gaps with guesses. NEARBY DEVELOPMENTS Track what's being built, renovated, or knocked down nearby with real development application (DA) and complying development certificate (CDC) data, pulled from the NSW Planning Portal, Queensland council data, and PlanningAlerts for VIC, ACT, SA, WA, NT, and TAS. See application status, key dates, and a link to the source documents where the council or authority provides one. ON THE MAP Every address search drops a pin and draws the suburb boundary on the map, alongside nearby development markers. See the federal and state electorates the address sits in, plus SA2-level education and workforce figures from the ABS. SAVE YOUR ADDRESSES Bookmark home, family, a place you're watching, or anywhere else worth checking back on. Oikosly is built for anyone curious about a neighbourhood — whether you're weighing up a move, keeping an eye on a local development, or just like knowing what's around you. A note on data: Oikosly only shows real, sourced data from the ABS, state and territory police services, and official planning portals or PlanningAlerts (a project of the OpenAustralia Foundation). It never estimates or fabricates figures — where a state or council doesn't publish something, that field is simply left out.
