Still works on newest iOS 26 UNLIKE the new one that freezes?

EDIT: 04/11/2025
Had to come here to update and say that this version still works on newest iOS 26 unlike the new app that just freezes on opening?

EDIT 01/05/22

True to the developers word the issue has been sorted out and everything works exactly as before and described in the AppStore information. Also extremely fast repair, well done Aram!
As honoured I have changed my rating too 5 stars as the app deserves it and warrants it. Also a reflection upon the devs integrity and honesty upfront.
Thank you for making this app a great app again 🙏.

ABANDONED APP!!!

The OLD Pile used to be amazing. The developer has crippled it, and created a new app, which is a lot more expensive and lacks a one time price. So much for Pile. Apparently there’s not even a way to move your content is you WANT to pay $23 a year (when the OLD Pile had a one time lifetime payment option of $24–guess the developer has no problem screwing old customers). Who would trust a developer who takes peoples money, abandons his app, which they paid for, offers a free upgrade that is not forthcoming, and just figures that’s their problem. It’s not like we don’t have a ton of other applications like this to choose from with developers who actually care about their good customers and their own reputation. Bad move.

Unlocked Old Pile & Left in the dust

I have tried multiple times to contact the app developer following their instructions to no avail. The links go to page not found and no response to multiple emails. Very sad as this was a terrific app.

Cheat

The developer has depreciated the old app and launched a new one with the same features, aiming to get rid of previous customers and embezzle their money. Now, you have to pay again for the new app, and there is no lifetime option anymore. Greed will not take this guy far.

There Goes My ‘Pro’ Purchase, Then!

So, my ‘Pro’ purchased app is now ‘OLD Pile’. WOW! These guys are true winners, folks! You buy an app in good faith only for them to realise they can make more money & ‘OLD Pile of DUNG it is’.

Do yourself a huge favour: Stay Away.

Buggy Mess

Sounded great, and free version seemed nice. Glad I chanced just the month sub to start. This thing is a terrible mess. Imported links from Safari. Caused multiple crashes, wouldn’t load all cards, wouldn’t load images to all cards. Tried sharing which did absolutely nothing. The MacOS version has all kinds of issues, including it has random counts that don’t match anything in the menu drawer. Syncing either doesn’t work or is beyond slow across multiple devices. And the Tips and Tricks are dead/blank pages with nothing available to help you try and understand what’s going on. Wondering if abandoned app, but either way certainly not worth it.

No Support No Use

I purchased the premium version of this app as a tool to use for work because I'm a concept artist. Unfortunately, the app crashes upon opening it, and I haven't been able to use it in months - even with restarting the computer, reinstalling the app, and installing updates. Neither Apple nor the Pile developers ever got back to my requests for help, so I'm very disappointed overall.

Digital Hoarder Approved!

As a long time digital hoarder, I am constantly struggling with keeping my digital assets organized. My browser bookmarks have long since devolved into a mess of folders and sub-folders that literally manifest physical anxiety any time I try ti find something.

Pile has an awesome interface that promotes the initial categorization and tagging of items BEFORE they are saved. This makes all the difference for me. Thanks for a great app with a clean user interface and an incredibly helpful end result.

Could be great, but full of bugs

I've been trying out all bookmarking apps and in terms of potential, visual appeal and overal UX this is definitely in the top.

Well, would be if, it wasn't completely broken. There are so many bugs on every screen, every button. Really even just the basic things like tag filters don't work. Screen won't refresh after adding a new item. The number of items is totally random - I've added 4 links so far but got an alert "you've saved 40 out of 50 items" lol. Random images flickering.

I'm sorry, I wanted to like this app because I see there's a well thought through idea behind it. But engineering wise it's just not there. Even the "submit feedback" button is broken haha, at least on Desktop.

It's a shame really cause there's a lot of potential here. Oh well, I'll try again in year…

Nope

Initially, I loved Pile but itʻs incredibly unstable. The app consistently freezes. Iʻm really disappointed because itʻs a phenominal idea and, when it works, looks beautiful.

What a nightmere

Freezes, uploaded bookmarks, over 1000 come in removed from their folders, completely disorganized, can only delete a few at a time, then the app freezes while even attempting this. When you close the app, it relaunches on its own at random intervals. So I deleted the app, but it keep randomly relaunching anyway. Now I know why this was removed from Setapp.

Pretty good I hope the development keeps going!

Three Weeks Later

Initially in love with Pile, I purchased the full on version. I really wanted Pile to work. It's supposed to automatically save on cloud but I must have done something wrong. Lost three weeks of work when all of my data disappeared in front of my eyes. I'd exported backups but they didn't import back in. Every attempt to import crashed both the iPad and Mac apps.

If I create a new folder (on mac or iPad) I must close and then reopen the app to see it. If I add anything, I must close/reopen the app and maybe I will see the change I've made.

Attempts to get a response from the developer haven't worked but, seriously, the developer deserves to have a life.

I really wanted this to work & I'm bummed that it didn't. Pile is intuitive to use and visually pleasing. For now, I'm out. I will be back once it's clear Pile is more stable. It's a great beginning for a much needed app.

Frickn' Awesome

Pile makes me feel like my life is together, even if it's not. It's the perfect way to organize colors and client choices for my business. It's nice to easily find specific info when I want it.

Also, the graphics are super relaxing.

Seems awesome, but it shows I have cards?

Just installed this and it shows I have:
5 Links
22 Images
3 Notes

None of which are shown in the macOS or iOS apps. I've tried deleting all iCloud storage for the app, and within iCloud storage management itself, yet they remain.
Is this bugged?

L O V E the graphics. Thank you so much for making this app with those graphics!

This app is intuitive & easy to use on my Mac & iPad. I have not tried it on my iPhone. It has a clean & simple interface. I like the fact that the lifetime license is super affordable [as opposed to the $60 or $100 annual fees out there]

Seriously, download the app and test it out. It's so much better than the alternatives, even the free online alternatives. So, yeah, I highly recommend Pile &, no, I'm not getting paid for my review [although I wouldn't refuse a cupcake with sprinkles on it].

Amazing app

I totally love Pile - it’s like having your own, private Pinterest. I find it so much easier to track down what I’m looking for than regular bookmarks in my web browser. I particularly love that you can not just file bookmarks into folders, but also add tags to them. This gives so many more options to track down what you’re looking for.

Updated July 4, 2023: unfortunately the latest update has brought a number of issues that have made me reconsider Pile. Cards are constantly flickering which is annoying and the app is crashing a lot as well. I’m hoping these issues get sorted out, but if they don’t I’ll need to look elsewhere.

Crashing and syncing not working

The syncing is isn't working well and it's crashing and glitching out, please fix

Crashes immediately

It's unbelivable how simple thing such Drag & Drop causes this app to just shut down. This is how Mac supposed to work - simply!
I was unable to drop a video file into the board, as it was crashing immediately. Is it some kind of restriction on type of files? If it is, the app is not ready for today's life.
Charging over $60 for a lifetime licence it seems unappropriate to say the least. For what I need it for, Freeform simply rocks and it's flowless.
