About

OLLA is a specialty coffee companion built around bean cards, brew logs, cupping sheets, and a roast workbench — with a structured coffee reference woven through all of it. Every bag of beans has its own timeline. OLLA turns each one into a record you can return to, compare, and learn from. ROAST TO CUP — CURVES IN YOUR POCKET Import roast curves from Artisan (JSON, .alog, CSV), Giesen, ROEST, IKAWA, Loring, Kaleido, or any generic CSV — nine formats, detected from the file itself. Log a roast live with large buttons for charge, turning point, yellowing, first crack, and drop; development ratio appears in real time after first crack. Replay any curve, compare three batches, follow a reference roast, and carry the beans through to the cup. SCAN A BAG, GET A BEAN CARD Photograph the label and OLLA reads origin, variety, process, and roast date on device, then matches them against the built-in reference. Review every field before it is saved. Nothing is uploaded. BEAN CARDS — YOUR COFFEE RECORDS One card per bag: variety, process, origin, altitude, estate, roast level, roast date, purchase details, and your own notes. Resting and drinking windows count down on their own, so you know when a bag is at its best. COFFEE CODEX — THE KNOWLEDGE BEHIND YOUR BEANS Explore structured, cross-linked entries covering origins, varieties, processing, roasting, equipment, brewing, and sensory evaluation. Reference cards carry flavour radars, lineage charts, processing flows, roast curves, and grading systems — every figure sourced, and left blank where no reliable source exists. BREW LOGS AND CUPPING SHEETS Record grind, water temperature, ratio, TDS, extraction yield, timing, and sensory impressions. Score cuppings on the SCA form. Everything links back to the bean it came from. COFFEE JOURNAL — A REPORT THAT GROWS WITH YOU The journal turns your records into a personal analytical report: brew rhythm heatmaps, flavor DNA, an origins map, a golden-cup chart, a bean ledger, and milestones. Every figure is derived on device from your own records. TEN TOOLS AROUND THE CORE Brew timer with step recipes, recipe library, ratio calculator, extraction-yield calculator, espresso lab, brewing-water recipes, cupping score sheet, grind guide, roast reader, and a flavor wheel. WIDGETS, REMINDERS, AND SYNC Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show the drinking window of a pinned bean, today's ledger, and recent additions. Local reminders tell you when a bag is entering or leaving its peak. iCloud keeps everything in step across your devices. TRILINGUAL Use OLLA in English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese, switchable inside the app. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No sign-up required. No tracking, no ads, no analytics. Bean cards, brews, cuppings, notes, and preferences stay on your device and in your own iCloud. Camera and photo access is requested only when you scan a label, and recognition runs entirely on device. OLLA is a quiet, practical coffee handbook — a place to keep what you have tasted, and to understand it better. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

What's New in OLLA Brew Lab

1.1.9

August 10, 2026

The complete home-roasting workbench has landed — one continuous record from green bean to cup. • Roast workbench: big-button event punching while you roast (charge, yellow, first crack, drop), with the development ratio running live after first crack; field mode goes full-screen for blind punching; Live Activities put the timer on your lock screen and Dynamic Island • Nine import formats: Artisan (JSON, ALOG, CSV), Giesen, IKAWA, Loring, ROEST, Kaleido and generic CSV; play, speed-shift or scrub any curve with live bean-temp and rate-of-rise readouts • Compare roasts: overlay two batches channel by channel and choose which channel to read; when a batch lacks that channel it says so rather than drawing a false line • Roaster catalog: official spec sheets for 35 machines, one tap to set yours up • Green library and stock: charges draw down green lots, brews draw down roasted cards; finish a roast and mint its bean card in one tap, with cuppings and brews linking back to the batch — and the whole chain exports as a one-bean dossier PDF • Curve sync via iCloud (Pro): pick up your curves on another device. On by default; long-press any roast in the library to keep it local • Landscape: the curve viewer, compare and Roast to Cup all rotate to full-width • A/B brew bench: two parameter sets on the same bean side by side with differences highlighted; the brew timer is rebuilt around cumulative pour weight, with a ruler laying out every pour's target and moment • New LAB section in the dictionary: long-form dossiers in a category of their own — ALO Coffee, Gesha and the Hong Kong Layer, each a dozen chapters with data figures and commissioned plates, in Chinese, English and Japanese • Dictionary and tools recalibrated: the flavor wheel returns to SCA's official 85 descriptors; cupping intensity anchors and grinder conversions follow the official figures; the brewer and paper catalog was verified and expanded to 47 brewers and 72 papers • Export suite: curve sheet PDF, curve PNG, compare exports and a stock report, all in the cupping report's lab style. Cupping reports can carry your shop name and signature (Pro); new lock-screen widgets (Pro) • On-device AI (requires an Apple Intelligence device; not available in some regions): post-roast summaries, coffee Q&A, taste profile and a brew advisor, all running on your phone. Siri and Shortcuts supported • OLLA Pro: log as many of your own roasts as you like; importing curves is free up to three, and anything imported stays viewable and comparable forever; iCloud sync is Pro
