Video format allows you to see all aspects of a restaurant or cafe - indoor and outdoor spaces, lighting, tables, bar, food. Such a great way to check out the entire atmosphere and form your own opinion (as opposed to reading thru a written review).
Essential for city life
I constantly find myself scouring apps to find new spots in the Bay Area. Ombi has been great recently because it gives me the real feel of a place instead of stale images and text. Excited to keep using the app. Suggestion - add some spots with live music!
Really Awesome App
It is very useful to be able to see a video of the space to understand the ambiance and feel. I’m all about vibing with the place and this app allows me to experience that. If you want to get the full experience, this app is for you.
Perfect for traveling
Used Ombi on a recent trip to San Francisco to find a lot of amazing hidden spots I didn’t know about for for food and drinks and I’ll definitely use it for upcoming trips!
Way Better Than The Review Sites
My biggest issue with sites like Yelp is that the entire experience is filtered through one person: the reviewer. This app’s great because it takes that subjectivity out of it — the video lets me actually see a bar or restaurant’s whole vibe. Different people have different tastes, so it’s great that Ombi lets me decide whether a spot is cool or not, rather than me just trusting some anonymous Yelp user named like “Susan B.” Sorry to Susan B.

TikTok meets Yelp!
Ombi is super helpful when I am trying to pick a restaurant because I can get a feel for the ambiance and food through the video feature so I can tell if my friends will like it. Usually I go on TikTok to find what the vibe of a restaurant is- but then I never know where it is located however on Ombi I can search by neighborhood like Google Maps. I also love how on Ombi its all about the restaurant instead of the person taking the video. Its really nice how I can send restaurant previews to my friends using the web- app because my friends and I are always sending each other new places to try for breakfast, dinner, or to get drinks. In the future, it would be nice to be able to choose by cuisine type but would definitely recommend!!

Hands down the best app for planning a dinner. Having access to video makes it much easier to get a feel for the ambiance of the places and the food too. I love that I can send a restaurant preview to my friends when we are trying to decide on where to go eat! Super helpful.
Best way to choose date spot
Ombi helps me plan what spot to go to for lunch, dinner, drinks, etc. People submit videos of what the vibe of a restaurant or bar is currently like. I can then scroll through those videos and see what type of setting my partner and I are in the mood for.
Future of Restaurant Search!
It’s so cool to be able to search out restaurants through video. Feels so much more intuitive and natural than reading through Google or Yelp reviews. Can’t wait to post from every restaurant I hit!
