Fun

Fun game great graphics and story!

Crash

Well, i actually like the game......but it keeps crashing when I wanna open it. Like ten times in a row. Wonder if I will get into the game again now. Sigh.

Good game...but

There is a possibility of becoming 'stuck' due to being locked out of scenes and having to restart. Very disappointed big fish let that happen

Ominous Objects - Trail of Time

Excellent Game!!

Ho hum....

Too easy. Predictable. Big Fish - I'm outta here.

Thanks for the explanation, Izzyoc. I thought that was the case but for the complainers out there.... You would think people would be excited about upcoming games but they pick us apart instead! I agree with the PuppetShow CRAP! That's right! I said it! ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป
I will get back to you all once I play this ostensibly boring game, but I have nothing else to do anyway! Note to Catalina5: please complain to BigFish directly about PuppetShow! Eventually they will get on ERS to issue an update, but there needs to be many complaints from the gamers/reviewers. Also the Sunward game was amazing, so you should play it, and the new Parables was pretty good too. So BigFish seems to be trying! It's up to US to keep them on their best behavior and to get the best out of them. Why do you think I instituted the Dream Team Elite? Once again, we do not work for BigFish, but we do get results from them!
On to the game. I wish I had read the DTE reviews before I bought it, especially those of Izzyoc and KimTwilight, but it was too late at that point. I believe that if BigFish had brought out this game BEFORE the amazing game from Sunward, it would have gotten better reviews, but after you play an incredible game and then this one, it cannot measure up! First of all the story was not that interesting. It seemed unoriginal and dated. It wasn't very lengthy, even with bonus adventure. The graphics were beautiful, albeit wintry, but those of us who live in the Hurricane State are grateful to anything that makes us feel cooler! You could customize settings. You collect crystal snowflakes, but who cares? Loading was not instantaneous between locations but there was a very short lag time (not interminable like we get from Elefun, thankfully!) There was not all that much to do at each location. There was a marked, if so chosen, teleport map to transport you. Inventory was labeled and interactive and there were complex items to assemble. However, Daily Magic gave us "leaping" inventory, which is extremely annoying! They also gave me a MOUSE to deal with, and nobody had given me a much-needed heads up! Ok, I know, I survived it! The HO scenes did have variation, but they recycled them and there were too many for my liking. You could opt to play a match-3 game instead, but I didn't like it! The puzzles/mini-games were most boring rotational stuff, and none really showed much imagination or originality. You do have Mr. Jenkins to help you, and he is a very pretty Siamese/Persian hybrid, but you need to keep feeding him in order to receive his help. He was not altruistic! You also have a magical amulet. This game was very "cookie cutter" and at best it would get 3 or 3.5 stars. I generally enjoy this series, but this game fell short.
I hope our next game is incredible! Any bets on that one, DTE? Lynxie sends lots of โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ‘ your way! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Ominous Objects: Worth the Time?

Mediocre game by Daily Magic; not too terrible but not one of the greats either. Ok as another time-waster if you have no other games to play. But recommend holding off for a better game.
The story: Nothing too ground-breaking here - as the investigator of the "ominous objects", you are once again called in to check out a situation with a clock-maker gone awry. You bring along your sidekick Mr. Jenkins, a Siamese cat who needs to be fed before he'll help you out (what, you didn't bring along the kibble?) One mouse at the witch's house.
The game mechanics: No long lag times (hello EleFun games), but game load time is a wee bit long, and checking out the strategy guide makes you restart the game load all over again. Ugh. Please bring back the in-game strategy guides! Customizable mode of play. Transporting map that shows active areas. Variety of HOGs (find matching objects, find things to unlock the list of objects, mildly interactive) and graphics are clear enough. Wasn't a huge fan of the voices, but maybe that's just me.
The goodies: just collectable snowflakes, mostly in the zoomed-in scenes.

Lynxie - thanks for asking for the clarification on the ratings and dates of up-coming games.

With respect to the Puppetshow debacle, I gave up holding my breath and requested a refund from the nice folks at Apple ... I figure I can use that money to buy a GOOD game that actually works!

Fun little romp

With respect to other reviewers, it appears that playing a game that doesn't require ultimate skills is a problem. There are some of us out there that once in a while like to have a fun game to play that doesn't test our brains to the nth degree, this was such a game. I didn't find it boring it was a lot of fun, and a nice change from the doom and gloom games. One last point, that kitty is a Himalayan, not a Siamese.

That's it?

Was this the shortest HO strategy game ever? Or was that just my imagination? My rating is based solely on the brevity of this game. Everything else - story, graphics, puzzles, map, hint button - were fine. I'm just glad I didn't pay full price.

Flop

One of the worst HOG games I have ever played! Horribly written storyline and overall elementary. Don't bother with this one. Shame on you, BIG FISH!

"Time" Stands Still When You Are Feeling "Blue"!

Update: I deducted an additional star due to the offensively short length of the main game, as well as the unexpectedly abrupt ending; thereafter, the bonus chapter might have won the award for "shortest playtime ever!" Not worth even three dollars!

I am not moved by this one. The story is not well developed, and it did not generate an enthusiastic reaction; additionally, the theme is quite peculiar in that animals are suspiciously being turned into menacing, ice monsters as a wave of frozen ice covers a small village. The graphics are adequate enough although the developers could fine-tune the sharpness a bit more. The colors = blue = monotonous; no other comments. You may customize your settings; however, you cannot eliminate sparkles in the HOS in custom mode. Inventory is labeled and interactive; items require assembly. The map enables seamless transport to desired locations with available actions indicated. I assume that the map, suitcase items, and collectibles are placed together under one button to obviate any tightness or mistaken access of unintended functions; your all-in-one suitcase stores your goals, cut-scenes, and any fragmented pieces of acquired reading materials. There are a few gimmicky elements incorporated, but I won't ruin your sake of surprise. The HOS are structured to include an assortment of multiple fashions; some feature imbedded puzzles. Unfortunately, you will visit them twice, which indicates a sense of insipidity. The puzzles are brief and juvenile in challenge. Some are rotational; some test your dexterity skills. Transition is speedy; no glitches to report. The collectibles are infrequently spotted and childish in idea. Another negative aspect is that, at times, a steadfast, swooshing noise resonates to the point of my turning the volume way down. Also, there are no trend-setting concepts that are prevalent in other developers' games. For the most part, I am quite bored; in fact, I am bored right now as I am writing this review. I rate this game three stars; and I attribute this to the lack of a journal, an outdated impression, revisited HOS, and mind-numbing gameplay. Don't open your wallet!

Bored to tears!

What a boring game - nothing interesting or adventurous here. Too repetitive on hidden object scenes where you match pairs (Yawn)
Puzzles are not challenging at all. Overall, I am going to have a difficult time finishing this one as there is no excitement or challenge. Games lately have been pretty poor. Such a disappointment. Still think Big Fish should give us a free game after taking our money for the PuppetShow: The Face of Humanity ( a game we paid for and cannot even play!
Very disgusted with the quality of games released lately.
