Glitchy
I just downloaded this to give it a try. On first launch there was an endless spinner, but once I force restarted the app it worked. Now that I’m trying to do a crossword, it keeps not responding to taps for 10-30 seconds at a time while the timer keeps running. The concept of the app seems great, the performance bugs just need to be ironed out before I’d use it regularly

Improved navigation
Several days ago I emailed asking about navigating the puzzle using the tab key. The app developer responded the same day telling me that the navigation was adversely affected by a recent iOS update but that it should be addressed in the next app update. Today, I received another email telling me that the update was out and asking that I verify its functionality. While the timing of the update was clearly coincidental to my inquiry, the kind of personal attention shown speaks volumes about the developer. I highly recommend.

Best on the go crossword app!
I really love that there’s no ads, and can be played without WiFi! I love doing the crosswords when traveling, good way to kill time and there’s so many you can do

All-In-One Crossword App
One of the best crosswords app out there that compiles crosswords from multiple different sources, updated with new puzzles daily!
The UI is decent, but the biggest change I’d like to see is to the clue cycle controls. The arrows are so small you have to tap precisely to move from one clue to the next. It’s better if we could tap once on the entire clue box to skip to the next clue.
All in all, big thanks to the developer for this wonderful app!

Fixed crashing
I wrote a recite that Omni had started crashing on me. Submitted it and then saw there was an update. That fixed the crashing!! Thanks Rohan!

Small clue box
My favorite for doing crosswords. But recent update adds a zoom and direction change button that makes the text box with the clue to small! I’d like to increase that box size and font size especially for small crosswords like NYT mini and The Atlantic
Terrific crossword app
I used to do crosswords on paper fairly frequently, but never found an app that really resonated with me. This one does. I have only a couple of small nets to pick.
The smallest is that I cannot find a way to identify the version number. That turns out to be important because there have been changes to the app that don’t seem to have been improvements, and I need to find out if I’m running the current version or not.
Another is the fact that when one starts crossword, and picks a square to fill in, the crossword scrolls up to the point where it obscured the first row, and only the first row, at which point I have to pull it back down so I can fill in the first line.
The last is that there doesn’t seem to be a way to simply scroll March through the horizontal clues from top to bottom or Verte Terkel clues from top to bottom. I don’t mean when the crossword is initially started, but after a significant number of squares have been filled in than one would just like to go through through all of the clues and order.
The last two are a major nuisance, but I will definitely continue to use the app and recommend it to anyone.

Literally been searching for this all my life. I do three to six a day now. Itch satisfied.
Buggy
I want to love this app so much because I love doing the LAT Sunday puzzles and NYT minis but this app is so glitchy that I have to refresh it 10-12 times before I’m able to get into a single crossword. Even then, sometimes it takes forever to respond to the arrow controls. Please fix this.

Seems to have fixed the insane battery usage and performance issues on startup. And I just realised it has added a rebus function. Perfect!

Googled best crossword app with no annoying ads and this is the first thing that was suggested through Reddit. Thank goodness I found this because its the PERFECT app. The layout is awesome and straightforward. No childish reward system aspect, and no annoying ads. I love that you can choose from real crosswords from various legit sources. So freaking cool. Kudos to the creator of this app!

Best app after the NYT changes. Plus it’s free!
I’ve been using this app for a long time but ever since the NYT paywalled the mini crossword, I’ve been using this app more frequently. One thing to improve might be the automatic row selection. If it was a bit smarter and looped back to words you haven’t filled out and avoided boxes you have would be a great improvement. Overall, it’s an essential crossword app for me!
