Core Problems
The app is poor quality. As a translation app, it’s funny that their English is so poor. They should use their own service to translate their app. Maybe the problem is that they did.
The device would still be great for what it is, if it gave you more options for how the device worked.
My number one complaint is that despite having my device volume at maximum, the translated words are spoken too softly to hear. That means that yes, even though music and notification beeps and everything else work at a normal volume, the CORE feature of the product is unusable because you can’t hear what it’s saying unless you’re in a dead-silent room.

Absolute Garbage
Do not bother buying this device. The translation is pitiful and you have to use your iPhone which already offers Apps that do the same thing. This is an absolute rip off.
Not all that great!!
Without the One Mini, this app is useless. I’m a Backer on Kickstarter for that device and the company is months behind with no recent updates as to what is going on. It’s been 2 1/2 months since they’ve given an update. All the backers feel we’ve been cheated and just this app being here is an insult to those who have backed them.
Update 12/23/2019: I got my OneMini device. I really just functions as a Bluetooth speaker and Microphone. You cannot do anything without having your smartphone with you as well. It isn’t a MP3, it just channels music or sound from your smartphone. The translation function of the app isn’t nearly as good as several other apps I have. There is one app that is both on my phone and my Apple Watch. And since I’ve got an Apple Watch with built in cellular service, it truly can act as a stand-alone translation device that works way better than the OneMini. My watch can also play music by itself and has maps/navigation etc. etc. etc....

Loving the One Mini
The One Mini app is easy to use and seems to be accurate. The app design looks good and only has a few functions so you can get to what you need without worry. The only reason I didn’t give the app a five star review is because not everything is in English so if you’re wanting the live interpretation services that you have to pay for, I’m not sure how you would do it. It’s also good to read the terms of service for this app. It does collect data and personal information so just remember that.

Good for vocabulary, not sentences
I’m using the translation from English to Korean. The device works well for catching English spoken words and displaying the text when spoken slowly and leaving long pauses between sentences. When giving short phrases or single words, the app is translating well. When giving complete sentences or more than one sentence, translation becomes inaccurate.
This device is ideal for using as a dictionary, but thus far not so effective for translation. Free services, such as Papago, can be a more convenient tool for dictionary use.
***I have not used the live interpreter, so I cannot review that service. I’ve been using the device so far with just the recording feature and app.
