About

One question per day. That's it. Every day, a single question appears. You answer it once—then it's locked. No editing. No rewriting. No polishing. Just honest reflection. Written on paper, not on a screen. Serif type, warm ink, a page with grain. The question is the title and the rest of the page is yours. Why it works: • One thought a day, finished and set down • A record that builds itself while you're not looking • Private enough to be honest in Every day: • A new question each morning, and a reminder at the hour you actually write • Answers lock the moment you save • Mark how you felt, or leave it blank • A few words back after you write, drawn from the week behind your entry Looking back: • Past Entries as a timeline you can search and filter by mood • On This Day — what you wrote a week, a month, six months, a year ago • Year in Review — the whole year as a calendar of moods • Insights — streaks, patterns, and weekly and monthly reflections Wherever you write: • Apple Watch, with dictation and complications • Apple Vision Pro, for writing in a space of your own • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets • iPad, in split view Yours to keep: Your entries stay on your device and sync only through your own iCloud account. Nothing you write is used for analytics. Export everything as plain text whenever you want. Open the app. Reflect. Answer. Close. Repeat. Simple. Private. Yours.

What's New in One Question Journal

1.6

September 15, 2026

The app is written on paper now. Serif type, warm ink and a page with grain replace the grey cards. Today is a full writing surface — the question is the title, the rest of the screen is yours, and the moods sit on a rail above the keyboard. New in 1.6: • On This Day — a week back, a month, three months, six months, and every past year you've written. One look-back per page. • Past Entries is a timeline, and entries now keep the time they were written. • Settings — move the daily reminder to the hour you actually write, choose light or dark paper, and export everything as plain text. • A tab bar, so every screen is one tap away instead of a swipe and a guess. • The words you get back after saving are written from the week behind your entry, not from that one day. • Tapping a weekly or monthly reminder now opens the reflection it announced. • iPad gets a split view and a readable column. Fixed: the affirmation and the Year in Review footer no longer change each time you open them, and the monthly reminder announces the month it actually has.
