About
One Sec provides a visual signal through blinking and symbol changes to support accurate pacing when presenting test stimuli at half-second, one-second, or two-second intervals.
Some standardized assessments require a half-second stimulus presentation interval, a timing requirement that many evaluators do not routinely use. While metronomes are commonly recommended by major testing and publishing organizations, no purely visual pacing tool has been available for test administration. One Sec was developed to address this gap and support practical needs during real-world testing.
This app is intended for psychologists, school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, psychometrists, special education teachers, and other professionals who administer standardized assessments. Rather than relying on a clock with a second hand or estimating timing internally, One Sec provides a clear visual reference. The device should be placed out of the examinee’s view and monitored discreetly while items are presented. The app can also be used to track how long stimuli are displayed when timing is required.
One Sec does not display blinking numbers. A future update may include this option.
Built by a psychoeducational evaluator/previous school psychologist, who understands the realities of test administration.
IMPORTANT: This app includes blinking visual effects. Users who are sensitive to flashing lights or who have photosensitive epilepsy should use caution.
