I liked the previous version where one click took the view to the current location bus was at. This is confusing. It’ll do but not good not bad.

I like OneBusAway
This app is really nice and is easy to navigate and find the time the bus is coming. I use this app all of the time. Thank you for making this, it makes life easier.
Accurate most of the time
Good tool for transit users. I am sometimes able to find better connections than Google Maps offers.

I’ve used this since 2018, and it is probably one of my most used apps. Extremely intuitive, seamless, and everything I need to get around the greater Seattle area. Thank you, OneBusAway team, for creating (and updating) a masterpiece!
Very accurate & easier than the official transit website
The real time is incredibly accurate and finding the times is so much easier than the times tables on the official transit websites as someone with dyslexia
Essential for Bus Riders, but…
This is one of the apps I use the most. It is basically essential for me to use this as a frequent bus rider. However, the latest UI update is really annoying, so I’m leaving a review for that alone.
First of all, the changes are unnecessary. The problem with OneBusAway was never the UI. Accurate bus times were the problem. Disappearing busses were the problem. And these problems still exist.
The new interface uses a vertically sliding menu instead of a normal, non-sliding menu. This thing is the real issue. It doesn’t behave the way you would expect, partially because no other app uses it. There is a guideline in web development that users want familiar UI across all apps and websites. The sliding menu is uniquely annoying and bad.
Here are the issues in detail if you’re interested:
The menu doesn’t disappear when you minimize it, and when you click on a bus stop when that stop is currently active on the menu, the menu doesn’t return to full view. So in that scenario, clicking on your bus stop does seemingly nothing. It should at least slide the menu back up. When you click on a bus stop, the menu shows up at half view. Why? Why would I want a menu that takes up half the screen? I will always slide the menu up to full screen, every time. When I click “Load More” the screen doesn’t scroll all the way down, so if I want to check a bus time that is much later in the day, I have to scroll down each time I hit that button.
Essentially, the menu never needs to be at half size or minimized, it serves no purpose.
As someone who uses this app every day, I am begging the developers to revert the unneeded and disruptive UI changes and focus on QOL and bus accuracy instead.

Great app, incredibly helpful
No more running to catch a bus that is delayed eight minutes.

Map view?
Previously had map view of next bus on by default. Nw just shows times of next bus. Inaccurate schedule times in the past have made me distrust advertised times not associated with a mapped bus location.
Simple, super helpful. Recommend over that other transit app
The bus times are almost always accurate. It’s annoying when a bus comes early, but it’s usually not the app’s fault that a bus is flying down the street.
So helpful even when plans change!
One of the more helpful apps I’ve ever used. I don’t need flash and a lot of random features, this app has what matters. I can use it to plan a route in advance, see what options are available, the map is handy to visualize where there are stops and what routes may be useful. And for my regular trips I can bookmark stops, journeys and one of my favorite; filter out routes at a stop. Some of the stops have 10+ routes but I can use more than one but not all so I don’t want to just see one route, I can easily see the next bus to arrive from any of the routes I use.

Get rid of this new update
Or at least give us the option to turn it off. The flashier you and other apps make things the less useable and more user unfriendly they become. Please restore the old app, I don’t want your new look. Apps like yours worked great until you crossed a barrier that makes everything too busy too flashy and only really possibly functional on newer phones bus users can’t afford.

Better than apple maps
This app is basically a necessity if you’re using public transportation because it’s way more accurate than apple maps.
My “go to” transit info for years now!
Really improved now that most of the info is transmitted from Metro buses. Of course you still have to battle traffic and connections, but way better than a paper schedule that may or may not be posted at the stop!

If you live in Seattle and take public transit you need this app. 90% accurate bus information and live updates so you know how long you’ll be waiting.

solid app, have some issues
love the app, wish the times were actually able to be accurate up the the second, and that changes to the transportation route, timetable, arrival, and so on, due to any reason, and what that reason is, would be accurately and reliably recorded and presented to me as a free user. Also, the GPS tracking is a bit iffy, and a shortcut to zero a user in on the bus stop closest to them, based on physical proximity and distance, and ease of access, would be the best thing this app lacks, if i could have any features i can dream up, of course. much love.

As someone who relies on public transit to get around, this app is essential, everyone who takes busses should have this on deck. It’s free you don’t even have to create an account and there are no ads.
